I’m back… so Let’s begin…
History: In 1941, Henry Ford made a car built out of mostly hemp fibers(#) and resin he’d been workin on for 12 years. (1) With the exception of the steel tubular frame, the entire car was built out of hemp & sisal and cellulose fibers from wheat straw plus 30% resin binder and could run off hemp or vegetable oil for fuel.
The body of the car was 10x stronger than steel and 100x lighter.
So what happened to the cannabis car built and run off renewable energy?
You might say… the timing was bad… in between WW1 and WW2 (2.) And then chemical giant, Dupont had just signed a huge war contract and wouldn’t allow it’s derailment by the new cannabis enterprises promising to come in and take over.
There was a concerted effort to stop cannabis from not just one genre of business.
But we’ll save all those juicy details for another time.
Fast forward to 2017 and hava chat with retired comedian and serious Car Collector Jay Leno interviewing retired Dell Executive, Bruce Dietzen who invested $200k into a vehicle called “Renew”(#), a contemporary version of Henry Ford’s cannabis car.
Go to the Google machine and look up “pot cars”.
Ain’t it amazing what cannabis can do?
Politics:
(September 10, 2020): We’re getting closer to voting day and there are over 1500 Cannabis Bills across the nation up for the 2020 Vote this year… so do your part to change our world…VOTE! And this year… PLAN your vote.
If yer goin to the polls, pack a lunch, take a chair, have an umbrella and extra phone battery. If yer mailing in yer ballot, get the tracking number and keep checking!
If you don’t have confirmation of yer vote being counted, you can go to the polls on Nov.3 and cast a provisional ballot. If yer mail-in ballot was already tabulated, the poll worker will let you know before you ever walk into the booth because their records are more current.
Let me take this opportunity to inspire… I’ve given some time to volunteering with Equality Florida because I want my efforts to mean something this voting year. I phone bank and text-bank with them on ZOOM and have met some really wonderful Floridians lookin to serve their communities.
We give each other hope for a new future because we’re just ordinary people out “stomping the virtual pavement” for the Human Cause. And my point is that you can find hope for a new future in YOUR giving actions, too.
So pick something to give yourself to (Even Virtually!!) and make your actions speak louder than words! Thank you in advance for doing your part… even if all you can do is encourage others to do more… keep after them! That’s the kind of “GOOD TROUBLE” that the spirit of John Lewis reminds us to get into.
Science:
Everybody needs a little Science Awareness: So most people know that THC is a really potent euphoria that will get you high… but did you know that it’s “first-born twin” – THCa – the acidic form of THC is not only more potent but will NOT get you high!(3.)
All of this science is just now being researched but the point is that they’re finding out all kinds of information about this plant that is so promising… not only for the Human Race but for animals as well… scientists are chompin at the bit to get at it.
Problem is, until cannabis is de-scheduled, the current laws don’t allow proper testing. They can only test for adverse effects from cannabis while its on the list of “Drugs with No Medicinal Value”, thrown on there during the failed Reagan War on Drugs Program. Pretty tough to find adverse effects when the plant has literally been used since the dawn of time to aid in the healing of everything from birthing pain to epilepsy to the Black Plague. Did I mention that cannabis kills MRSA? (4.)That nasty and highly infectious bacteria that hospitals have so much trouble containing… that ravages patients…
News:
A Florida medical cannabis company told to recall moldy flower… Friends, this is what we’re up against with a LIVE PLANT Medication. It is attacked by all kinds of earthly predators from bugs to molds to metals. Which is why we’re soooo lucky that Florida has strict regulations about that sorta thing and follows up on it. This next story is about one of my local dispensaries… a favorite because of their business plans, their attitudes towards patients, and their product line is wonderful.
Medical marijuana company Alpha Foliage, which does business in Florida as Surterra Wellness, was ordered to recall flower that contained high levels of mold.
According to the News Service of Florida, the state health department’s Office of Medical Marijuana Use (OMMU) said the product, Granddaddy Purple Whole Flower, tested above the acceptable limit for aspergillus, a common and dangerous indoor and outdoor microbial.
Inhaling aspergillus(#) can cause serious problems for people with weakened immune systems [like patients with Chronic Fatigue/Arthritis/Fibro/] Cancer or lung disease.
Surterra Wellness dispensed 17,448,318 ounces of medical marijuana flower, in July, a little more than 545 tons.
[For reference, I micro-dose a little more than an ounce of cannabis per month in various ways and I’m a fairly heavy user. Hmmm, “I’m a fairly heavy user…” I wouldn’t say that about daily dosing Losartin for blood pressure or Amoxicillin several times a day for an ear ache… See how we’re still in “criminal mode” about a legal medication?]
And now aren’t you wondering where all that contaminated Granddaddy Purple is gonna go??? Me too. Let’s try to find out and I’ll let you know. Because I read about a company who learned how to DE-contaminate a problem crop in a very novel way so more about that to come as well.
