Welcome to the Cannaba Verum podcast, the cannabis truth podcast. I speak the language of cannabis freely and uncensored, while educating my audience on the safe use of this live Plant Therapy. You should know what’s in your cannabis, what’s good and what’s not. It does not come with an FDA stamp of approval yet, using cannabis mindfully, as medication is a different concept in the healthcare philosophy of the past 100 years. There’s a lot to learn and consider cannabis is not dangerous, but it is not harmless, either. This is honey Smith walls, a 21st century cannabis shaman here to explain the language of cannabis in historical, political, and scientific terms, so you can make educated decisions about the medicine you ingest.
Honey 1:13
Hello, my friends. Are you wondering what the infrastructure of the cannabis industry looks like? So are a lot of people interested in jumping into some form of cannabis business. They may be farmers or scientist, water filtration experts, Packaging Companies, or laboratories. They may be cannabis kitchens, or manufacturers of vertical growing contraptions, and temperature control companies. There are all kinds of business opportunities in the cannabis industry. And every single one of them needs your skills. But how to market in a world that still restricts advertising centered around cannabis. Claudia Post, founder and president of MOST Cannabis Consulting Group will explain a lot of those mysteries and more. Welcome to another interesting cannabis view from a woman in weed. And now, Claudia Post.
Honey 2:25
I am really impressed with Most Consulting Group. I really am and I do have a lot of questions for you, my audience is going to be very interested to know how you’ve been servicing cannabis companies and marketing for them as experts for 11 years… that’s been since 2010. Up in Philadelphia?
Guest: Claudia Post 3:12
That’s correct. But it’s a client base all over the country.
Honey 3:16
Of course, of course, I bet you’ve got a lot of weird and wild and unregulated compliance issues(1) to deal with, don’t you?
Claudia 3:42
Oh, yes, there are many, many. It’s a highly regulated industry. And if you don’t know what you’re doing, it gets shut down, your merchant processor, your ability to bank. Now I’m not talking about federally, but to use credit cards, if you have an e commerce site that gets taken away if you use the wrong words. And a lot of people don’t know, of course, everybody thinks they can do everything themselves. Of course, you know, with technology, but that’s not true. And that’s why people hire us. Because we are subject matter experts. And if you want to stay on the right side of compliance, who you know, you have to hook up with the right agency that knows what to do.
Honey 3:58
That’s absolutely the truth. There are so many new companies who are in a variety of states throughout the nation and they haven’t got a clue what compliance means. And the regulatory boards that they’re going to have to face to face… it’s a scary proposition when you know that federally it still can be swept out from underneath you in one fell swoop.
Claudia 4:27
Okay. Yes, of course. But you know, it is so conflicting, if you will, because it is a states’ rights issue. Obviously. It’s as you know, some states have affirmed the fact that marijuana can be sold through dispensaries or is recreational. However, people are also so confused. I would liken that at the moment to where do you wear a mask? Where do you wear a mask, do the first Shots not work? Because there’s a lots and lots of conflicting information.
Honey 5:06
Yeah. And because of states’ right, yes, everybody chooses to do it differently. And if you’ve got all of this arbitrary decision going on about making regulations for the entire populace…all different between states, is just utterly maddening,
Claudia 5:27
Yes, to be able to navigate through all that is very difficult. And many people don’t even know where to begin with that. And you know, like, I’ve had many people call me and say, oh, where do I get in? How do I get in? What do I do? You know? And then, of course, regulating all of that with a compliance is…
Honey 5:48
I bet you’ve got some pretty sharp lawyers up there helping you out to all that?
Claudia 5:53
Yes, yes, yes, we have very sharp lawyers. As a matter of fact, you know, my lawyer. My, my main lawyer, is the gentleman at Fox Rothschild. And they are really bleeding, cutting and every other edge, and I’ll give him a plug, because he’s like one of this, like an amazing person. His name is Joshua Horn. And he’s at Fox Rothschild. And of course, here in Philadelphia.
Honey 6:22
Wait a minute, wait a minute. You said his name is Joshua Horn? Yes. And where is he again? Let’s give him a proper plug.
Claudia 6:30
Yeah, let’s give them the old plug Fox Rothschild, here in Philadelphia, but they have multiple offices all over. Fabulous. So I’m sure you can find them online very easily. Yes. Or if you want, I’d be happy. Happy to make an introduction. All you have to do is find me via email, or however, fine.
Honey 6:56
Well, I’ve been on your website at https://mostcg.com/ And wow, is it impressive? And so there’s the easy way to get in touch with Claudia Post right at most cg.com. Am I correct? That’s correct. Okay, great. Well, then, we’ll just say that a few more times before we’re done with our chat. I want our audience to know you. You’re really impressive. Claudia. Really. Founder and president of consulting and design and advertising company… been in this industry for 11 years. That’s a very forward thinking.
Honey 7:38
Yeah, I mean, in my opinion, yeah. And one of the leaders in women in weed.
Claudia 7:43
Yeah, pioneer, I would say,
Honey 7:46
That’s right. So I’m really glad to meet you and talk to you. how did you jump into this industry? that long ago?
Claudia 7:58
Well, ironically enough, and I say this on every anybody that asked me a question, how did I get in? I have a son, a marvel. He’s a very famous glass artist. I’m going to give him a big plug to please do Snick Barnes.
Honey 8:02
And he how do we get in touch with him?
Claudia 8:04
So just go on his Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/snicbarnes/?hl=en
or just Google. And we will see he’s all over media. Snick Barnes is pretty amazing. And he is. He said to me one day said, Mom, you got to get into the cannabis business, it’s going to blow up. And sure enough, as we see, it has blown up. That was very prescient of him. And he said, you know, the industry is going to need people that are solid business people, like you. And so that’s why I got into the business. That’s how I got here.
Honey 8:57
Girl… I’ve got a son story for you, my son fav. Blows glass also, not for a living. He’s He’s in the tech world now. like yours. Yeah. And, and about 10 years ago, he said, Mom, information is money. And man that just clicked with me. He said, You know, there’s, there’s no reason why you can’t make money with the information that you have. That’s right. And it just it just really deeply seated. So it wonderful when our kids can inspire us like that. So who needed you in 2010? Who were your clients back then? And how in the world were you able to help them?
Claudia 9:41
Well, I mean, I started with then had another brand that was called smokin hot solutions. And my tagline was, we create the buzz. Yesterday, I started going to a lot of shows where everybody was very Cheech and Chongish. You know, do you need marketing? They didn’t even understand what marketing was. Like when I tried to explain to them was that a tsunami was coming? And, you know, they needed to wake up. Some of them did some of them didn’t… you know how that goes?
Honey 10:12
I do. In fact, I just was listening to a story about a guy up in New Jersey called Weed Man. Yeah, man. And so he claimed over 800,000 people in the medical marijuana registry. Oops… technology glitch that we have to suffer at this moment. But we’ll get through it. Anyway, Weed Man was griping that the state took over all of his clients. And, you know, they didn’t invite him into the legal industry until recently. And now he’s talking about all of that. But, uh, you know, you’re right. Some of them understood the ramifications of that cannabis tsunami coming in. And others of them didn’t, like you said…they didn’t even know what marketing was.
Claudia 11:12
No. No, there are people that adopt to new things early. Yeah. And are people that you know, they’re from Missouri, and have to wait and see, you know, well, yeah. I mean, I read a lot. And I think that any good person, good business person needs to be reading, everything, everything, everything.
Honey 11:39
Yeah, from many, many, many sources, just try to stay on top of it, and then choose your specialty. But that’s what I tried to do in this field, I tried to stay on top of the global peek at cannabis. And then my particular soapbox is helping my community understand how to use cannabis safely and effectively. And not be afraid of THC because I teach them how to control it. So that’s where my soap box is but oh, my goodness, there are so many streams and avenues in this cannabis industry. It’s just gobsmacking. And I understand that you also have Canadian clients, so the laws are totally different than down here. Yeah.
Claudia 12:37
I mean for Canadian clients, we do a lot of advertising for them and depending where, we can’t advertise. Exactly. So, I mean, it’s problematic. But, you know, I now have another brand, which is called Green Bar Supply Co. And I don’t know whether you even took a look at that.
Honey 13:07
Say it again for our audience so they can understand where to go online,
Claudia 13:12
Green Bar Supply Co https://greenbarsupplyco.com/
Honey 13:21
Beautiful, okay, I’m sure they can get that now. And also, Claudia, I’ll put these links to your, to your business at on my website and my social media, so that our audience can find you. I’m really tickled to find you. Your website is stunning. It it’s, it’s, you know, the five star version of what every cannabis business owner would like to have for their own website. It really is. I noticed you’ve got a tremendous beautiful young staff of directors and writers mind. Every lot of services to choose from.
Claudia 14:06
Yeah, everybody is young. And that works with me and I love it, frankly.
Honey 14:12
Well that’s what they have the elders for to help them, show them how to do it for all of that juicy creativity that they supply for us. Right? For their freshness and how they see their perspective is so wonderful. So you’ve been doing sites for dispensary’s and news magazines and and CBD products. Even cannabis books.
Claudia 14:38
Yes, even cannabis books, but full service. So yeah, well now you’re on MOSTCG.com That’s the agency and I don’t know whether you’re even able to pull up Green Bar. I think you’ll love looking at that.
Honey 14:54
Okay, let’s go to Green Bar. So tell me about it. Okay, we’re going to pull this up and Oh wow. Dear audience go to https://greenbarsupplyco.com/ Well, this is lovely. It’s a It’s a beautiful sight about goodies in at the bar and views goodies at the bar and in the kitchen. And why limit happy to an hour inspiration at the bar Holy cow, you should see these exquisite looking pictures of all these yummies and edibles and drinks and fun things I want in hemp education in a glossary. Well, that’s gorgeous. Claudia. Really, your team is just amazing. I mean, really? Yeah, truly, it’s very clean, it’s very easy to look at exceptionally easy to navigate. And for, especially the elder people who are still kind of having a hard time with this, you know, newfangled, interweb thing. It’s nice to have something simple and clean.
Claudia 16:21
Yes, I’m all about simple and clean and tidy, but actually the designer is sitting right next to me here. Yeah, Sophia Goldstein.
Honey 16:33
Well do tell Miss Sophia Goldstein, we are incredibly impressed with her work. Thank you. And this absolutely we’ll tell our audience that they’re hearing you. So I hope you’ll get a lot of business from this. Thank you so much for showing me your work and letting our audience know. So Claudia, tell me, what do you think is gonna happen in this crazy cannabis industry?
Claudia 17:02
Well, I like to say I have a crystal ball. But of course, today I just posted on my LinkedIn that Jeff Bezos of Amazon is you know, he’ll be selling marijuana too. He’ll be selling weed. And my question was, would you buy weed from Amazon? So I mean, the whole world is trying to jump in. And I think smaller players will either merge with one another or, God forbid, go away. But I think that there’ll be a lot of consolidation, just like any other industry. And there’s consolidation going on now. And I think that if they’re, you know, if there’s, what’s the word I’m looking for, if there are, if the person who owns the business is not afraid and not only ego driven, they will be able to navigate the next part of the journey. That’s just my two cents.
Honey 18:08
I see your point, I really think we need more women in control over corporations. And you know, I’m, I kind of call that out too on my soapbox, I am just real tired of, of, Oh, you know, that whole sort of bullying thing going on? So I think women are softer, and they can they can get a job done without scaring the hell out of people. And
Claudia 18:46
oh, no, no, that’s not a way to manage. But I wouldn’t, I would, I would question your use of the word softer. I don’t think anybody would ever describe me as softer. I mean, I’m softer in a personal sense. But when I have to have a difficult conversation, or I have to be totally candid, I am absolutely comfortable with that. That took a lot of years and a lot of practice. But if I have, I have a very strong sense of right and wrong. So you know,
Honey 19:18
I have become that way too. And I really appreciate you saying that. Because Yeah, you’re right. I, I was thinking in terms of managing with a more nurturing style.
Claudia 19:36
I agree. I agree. Well, there are lots of women’s organizations and and lots of people who are out there trying to what’s the word I’m looking for? Have a seat at the table for women and it’s been years and years and years and years and years. And I don’t know where the fight is. I feel like it’s always the same, you know.
Honey 19:58
I just Saw Jane Fonda on TV yesterday. I mean, you know, God lover, she’s 9000 years old and still looks adorable and still fighting for the indigenous of our own nation. Yes, please. I know. It just makes me insane. But I’m so glad to meet strong women like you. And to let other women know, we’re here. And we’re doing this and they can too.
Claudia 20:34 Oh, it takes a lot of work. But we’re here and we can help you and show you and lead you and guide you. 100% right on. I love doing that. I love mentoring, and I love helping. You know, it’s like I say, you know, if you liked someone else’s candle, you were not diminishing your own flame. You’re just making the world a brighter place.
Honey 21:04
Oh, I love that Claudia. That’s beautiful. Thank you. beautiful. Like you make our show.
All right. Well, I just want to thank you for your time today, helping our audience become enlightened about what it’s like to be a woman in this industry leading this industry with a large corporation of your own. I’m proud to say it out loud. We need more of you, Claudia.
Claudia 21:25
I’m gonna need more of you too. Thank you for the afternoon. Thank you.
Honey 21:31
My pleasure. I’ll see you again real soon. Bye. Bye bye.
