CV 163 Amy Donahue Surviving Bombs

Hello friends. Today’s social media Maestro Amy Donahue returns from last week with stories that every parent is terrified to consider… surviving a bomb blast in high school.

Wait till you hear Amy Donahue tell her personal story, and why it’s so important to learn cannabis facts… Right after the intro.

Intro:

Welcome to season three of the Cannaba Verum podcast, the cannabis truth podcast.

I speak the language of cannabis freely and uncensored while educating my audience on safe use of this live Plant Therapy.

You should know what’s in your cannabis. what’s good and what’s not. It does not come with an FDA stamp of approval yet.

Using cannabis mindfully as medication is a different concept in western healthcare philosophy, specifically the past 100 years. There’s a lot to learn and reconsider.

The information you’ll find here comes straight from scientists and clinicians doing the work and reporting their findings in real time through various live online outlets.

The scientific truth of cannabis is finally getting out and is wide open for all to see at respected medical sites like pubmed.gov and JAMA, the Journal of American Medical Association.

I’m right there in the thick of it with all those titans of medicine… as a fly on the wall. I’m not a doctor nor did I go to med school. But I did take dozens of private cannabis courses and still engage in continuing education offered by cannabis expert scientists over the past few years and slowly began to see and understand the bigger picture.

Now I talk to people all day long about cannabis and hopefully inspire them to research the facts as we know them today. Cannabis is an amazing alternative in health remedies.

It can reportedly alleviate typical disease problems and troubling side effects, even those caused by synthetic prescriptions.

This is Honey Smith Walls, a 21st century cannabis shaman, not a doctor, not a scientist. Raised by nuns and wolves in the verdant cattle pastures of the Oklahoma oil fields.

I’m here to amplify the truth of this great big story and language of cannabis in historical, political and scientific terms… so you can make educated decisions about the medicine you choose to ingest.

Honey Smith Walls 2:07

I do a show about the spirit of cannabis to try to talk about the introspection that comes along with…. (Amy: Oh I love that) medicating with cannabis… because it doesn’t matter what you’re medicating with. You know there’s 1000s of compounds in cannabis, no matter which ones of them that you’re medicating with… and hopefully, all together.

It makes you look inside your own mind and think of things in a different way and reframe the world… and it settles anxiety and settles those negative looping thoughts and you know, just does all of that for us. I mean, that’s just on the surface of what it does for us spiritually. That spiritually… what the scientists are saying that I hang out with is…. that you know, if you’re going to heal the human that it must be done, you know, body, mind and spirit. Yep.

So I recognize the spirit of cannabis very deeply and it has moved me to reframe a lot of my worldview. I’m so grateful for it. Because my heart is at peace. And I love getting up again. And I have energy again and I am greatly healed by the effects of cannabis in the many ways that I need to use it throughout the day to help me. I’m 68… Will be in July. And I got some old lady shit going on as well. I’m just saying all kinds of stuff. I could have continued using the multiple prescriptions my doctors had given to me over the years. And by the handfuls, you know… by the handfuls… and continued to be in a brain fog and have lots of side effects and aches and pains and lalala and whine whine whine. But when I chose to try cannabis to alleviate my issue… just even some of my issues. It turned into a much greater alleviation than I realized… a healing. And, you know, healing doesn’t necessarily have to mean cured, but it certainly means an  uplifting.

Unknown 5:08

I like that you said that because I think a lot of people think that healers cure things but it’s just taking steps to get there.

Honey Smith Walls 5:16

Just taking steps to get there and find their own healing when they can accept the control of their own mind.

Unknown 5:27

I had no menopause problems whatsoever. And I have so many friends my age. I’m 51… and I went through menopause. I started at the age of 40 and I can say that, even though I had hot flashes, as soon as like my temper would go up or I would start feeling emotional… I could just take a couple bong hits or microdose an edible during the day, and it would be gone. And I could go on… because I own a business. I can’t just take a sick day. I’m not getting paid for a sick day.

So I have to find what is going to make me feel good… which is going to help as a kidney donor. My kidney recipient for kidney failure was from Motrin for a migraine. One migraine she was hospitalized for they gave her a couple 800 milligram doses and it caused her kidney failure. So once I donated, there was no way I was going to take ibuprofen. I was a gymnast, I was a powerlifter, a cheerleader. I have pain. And I wasn’t going to take a pill for that knowing that it could hurt my one remaining kidney. So I’m very very particular about compounds that go into my body because… just because you can buy it at Walgreens doesn’t mean it’s safe.

Honey Smith Walls 6:46

Exactly. Thank you very much and my audience already knows because I preach on the soapbox right? Yeah. And so my audience already knows about certificates of analysis. We call them a COA. And those lab tests… that third party lab tests that they must ask for… for anything that they buy in the way of cannabis, so they have to know if there’s any level of contamination and they have to know what the content is. Yep. So they’re getting really savvy. I’m really proud of my audience.

Unknown 7:23

But that makes me proud too, because that’s one thing I tell people even though I’ve been in this industry forever, I’ve been a patient forever. I still ask for test results when I go to a dispensary because I don’t know. This is my body and I don’t know what’s going in if you’re not going to have that on your website or whatever. You have to tell people what’s in it. It’s not only right but it’s fair.

Honey Smith Walls 7:47

And people need to know that they should ask. Yeah, they should. They should. Well, they need to learn to become their own Alchemist and their own protector. We have allowed the the medical professionals to usurp the authority and our own autonomy over our own bodies.

So they’ve always had authority over our bodies to tell us what to do.

Unknown 8:13

I don’t get it.

Honey Smith Walls 8:43

Well, it’s been their knowledge over our ignorance, ya know, basically so now knowledge is power, right? Yeah, and more people are coming. I’m so proud of what the pharmacy industry is doing… the School of Pharmacy in Maryland is spitting out all these fantastic cannabinoid scientists doctors in pharmacy…

Unknown 8:43

And they still can’t legalize!

Honey Smith Walls 8:45

I know.

Unknown 8:48

They just got into the industry. Was all people talked about. Like I look at them and I’m very thankful to be on the West Coast right now because at least we’re progressing.

Honey Smith Walls 9:02

Yeah. And in DC. You’re allowed to have cannabis but you’re not allowed to sell it or smoke it anywhere. You can’t even buy it!

Unknown 9:11

You can’t even buy it!

Honey Smith Walls 9:15

You can’t buy it. You could gift it to somebody if they buy a tchotchke or something. That’s how my friends got their their pot when they went upstate. So, you know, and by the way, I just use the stories. And that’s what I love about knowing the history of cannabis and all this ridiculous winding going around the bush bullshit of politics right now. It kills me. It kills me. Why Biden hasn’t done it. I don’t know. But it kills me.

Unknown 9:54

I think if it were up to him, it would be done. But we have a very caustic Senate. We pass the banking but as soon as the banking reaches the Senate, it falls flat. So it’s on so many levels. And I also believe he has a lot of stuff going on right now. Not to stick up for anything but I watch it all.

Honey Smith Walls 10:24

That should alleviate the monetary issues instantly.

Unknown 10:30

But even if you legalize today, though, it would not… there’s still a lot of policy that has to be created. So it wouldn’t actually take effect for quite some time, but it will happen. The banking I think is the most important as well as access because you have a state like New York that had a really crappy Medical program forever. Now they’re legal and decriminalized and there’s still no access like people still can’t purchase because there are no dispensaries yet. So it just drives me nuts when I watch the East coast from out here and just the hemming and hawing… but I guess that’s just how it goes. I don’t know.

Honey Smith Walls 11:12

Choose your legislators wisely people. This is a this is a republic and they don’t give a shit about your opinions as much as they do their own and will choose their own decisions for us. So choose your legislators wisely.

Unknown 11:30

And everybody wants legalization. There’s 70% of Americans right now. Yeah, they agree but you know, we had a pandemic that is still here. There’s a war in another country. There’s a lot of big stuff going on right now. Yeah, that I think, yeah, we just need to have some patience when it comes to America. Legalizing… it’ll happen. It just not one guy. And it’s frustrating to not have the support across the board. You would think that if people listen to their constituents, but I’m asking too much. I’ll stop right there. But it just, you know, we have to, we have to vote for the right people for this industry and get every state to have legal cannabis and vote out the governors who want to override voters like in South Dakota. South Dakota voters have approved but their governor refuses. So she wants to just override that stuff.

Honey Smith Walls 12:53

Like I said, this is a republic and your legislators will choose their own damn decision.

Unknown 12:56

Exactly. Exactly. Forget that we are Americans.

Honey Smith Walls 13:01

Well… the thing of it is, honey… is that it’s always been that way. It was that way from rich white men. It was designed this way by rich white men. So it is what it is. And although we’re just an idea…a philosophy in trial and error, this whole society called the United States… we still have to overcome the oppression of being a woman and being a person of color. Yep.

Unknown 13:38

Yep. It kills me. I’m from Buffalo. And when that shooting happened, like that’s one of those places where I never would have thought that would have happened there. It’s a great community… Buffalo is a great city. And, but to know that first of all, all that hate exists online for people to find it and get entrenched in it. But just to pick out a place because it had a high percentage of black people. That’s not America, and I don’t want to get too political but…

Honey Smith Walls 14:14

You’re just singing to the choir darling.

Unknown 14:16

It really bothers me. I was raised by a hippie. I love everybody unless you fuck with me or my people and then you go down. And I can tell you that you will go down bleeding. And there will be no ambulance for you.

Honey Smith Walls 14:30

Yeah, here. Take a sunflower seed. I’ll find you when when you’re dead.

Unknown 14:38

Yep, I don’t know. It’s a backwards world. We have to make sure that good people keep working with the good people to build great foundations for this industry. And you know what… everyone can eat our dust. Once we have national…they’re trying to get in and don’t have the opportunity. This is not something that’s really on right now.

Honey Smith Walls 15:01

It’s medicine and it’s got to be reciprocal throughout the United States. You know, you can’t just drive from one state to another and be able to use cannabis in one state not use cannabis in another and expect to manage your aches and pains or your cancer or your IBS or your bleeding gums or whatever the hell you need it for. Yeah, and and these legislators who are so goddamn corrupt to keep cannabis, a medicine, a plant… subdued like this and all that will come as a result of it, including taxation and payment for any kind of education…

Unknown 15:45

Education. I mean, the age of most of these people.

Honey Smith Walls 15:51

I know…

Unknown 15:53

Yeah. Over 60. Most of them are over 60… You know they use it.

Honey Smith Walls 15:57

I’m talking about old women on walkers with cannulas and men with canes and yeah, they’re walking into a dispensary that can’t even advertise with open draperies that it’s a dispensary because God forbid some child might see that old people need to go into a place and get medication. Oh, what’s that? You say Walgreens CVS what what what?

And then down here in Florida because of lack of banking, all people have to carry cash on us to go to these dispensaries and you know who’s looking for somebody with a lot of cash on them. See mark, right? Yep. Exactly. So it gives us an added vulnerability as elders in states like this who put these ridiculous banking restrictions on us because we can’t pay by a credit card in Florida for cannabis.

But you can for alcohol. Yeah, sure can. There’s no goddamn…. just lost my thought. Yeah, I may need a drink after this conversation. My blood pressure is already boiling.

I don’t know Amy, it’s gonna take strong leadership to overcome all of this corruption. It really, really really is. And it’s women who are leading it because the men are already tainted with corruption in corporate cannabis already all over the United States.

And so you know, we’ve just got to make better men. We’ve got to make better men and control the ones who are not better. Like it just astounds me that one man can devastate an entire country and the rest of the world just lets him do it. Not under my leadership. But God hasn’t died yet and made me queen. Yet.

Mazo Commercial

Hey, my friends. I want to give you a tip a better neurologist. I know and trust. Dr. Anthony Mazo is a highly rated specialist here in Melbourne, Florida. One of the first physicians to research and study cannabis since 2016 when it was legalized in Florida.

Dr Mazo is not quick to prescribe traditional synthetic chemicals when he knows that this gentle light Plant Therapy will likely give needed relief. I know this to be true because I had to see him for my own old lady neuropathy issues. He did not prescribe the usual stuff. He told me to go get a particular kind of cannabis instead and use it in a very specific way to find relief. And that is what every doctor in America should have in their little black bag.

His clinic details will be in my show notes for you. Why? Because he’s a trusted cannabis expert. In the field of neurology right here in Melbourne, Dr. Anthony Mazo at the Brevard Neuro Center on Nasa Boulevard. See his details in my show notes.

Honey Smith Walls 18:47

I apologize to my audience for turning so acidic but it just boiled my blood. It does. I’m trying to become a peaceful cannabis shaman but damn this stuff blood boils my blood when the answer is here in front of us and wanting to help us and science has been subdued, literally taxed.  Doctors were taxed for trying to prescribe cannabis in the 30s. Taxed heavily and of course by then pills came about and it was just easier to prescribe.

Unknown 20:13

And with the prohibition of hemp that meant that the cows were no longer eating it. We use to eat CBD and CBD was part of our diet. And look what happened to America. A cancer.

Honey Smith Walls 20:27

Yep.

Unknown 20:29

Yeah, it is full of cancer. And I believe that was part of it. I’m not a scientist. I haven’t done a study on it. But I truly believe that the prohibition of hemp did as much damage to our country as the prohibition of cannabis. But you know, big pharma and alcohol. I’ve been sober 18 years, I’m anti alcohol. And I see what they’re able to do online as far as marketing and social media, and they can have YouTube channels and stuff. We can’t do that. So we want people to drink themselves so they get cancer, but we don’t want people to learn about something that will help them alleviate their cancer treatment, which is cannabis.

Honey Smith Walls 21:12

It’s just astoundingly corrupt. It really is. It’s just astoundingly corrupt. Yeah. Time for a joint.

Unknown 21:26

It is. I have one right here. I have a Dream Dutchy right here. Okay, I have a Dream Dutchy that’s going to be… we have a great brand here called Dutchy so they make these pre rolls… but they’ve been around. They’re one of the first brands we had here. So they are amazing little pre rolls… one gram. It takes me sometimes two days to smoke it because I’m not… I’m a light consumer… but I’m a constant consumer, if that makes sense.

Honey Smith Walls 21:51

Well, you mentioned micro dosing earlier so I understand what your concept is.

Unknown 21:56

Yeah, I don’t know. I don’t microdose cannabis because I need a little bit more of a punch but Psyllicybin I microdose three times a week.

Honey Smith Walls 22:03

Oh, holy shit. Mushrooms.

Unknown 22:06

Yes. And it was just before COVID so I wasn’t able to learn as much as I could about it.

I actually survived a bomb blast in my high school in the 80s. School Violence is not a new thing. A kid who had been bullied, snapped one day and made a mercury switch pipe bomb. Put it in a kid’s locker right after homeroom. He opens his locker… touches it. The mercury switch means if you touch it, your body heat sets it off. It was the locker right behind me so 10 feet away.

I’ve had tinnitus since February 16 1988 Because of this, and it wasn’t until getting into this industry and learning about PTSD. I always thought PTSD is for soldiers. And that’s it. But I didn’t realize I had PTSD all these years because I had issues just being in public spaces for too long with too many people. When it got loud it would definitely hurt me but it has cured my anxiety. I no longer have the anxiety I had. I can go to networking places. I was just interviewed by Vox because cannabis. They found me on Reddit. That’s where people should be spending time.

Honey Smith Walls 23:22

I didn’t know that little tidbit.

Unknown 23:24

It was about cannabis to be around alcohol because one of the reasons cannabis is still under prohibition is because the alcohol industry has paid for it for decades and I’m not a crazy person. It is a fact.

Honey Smith Walls 23:36

It is a fact… all of that corruption again…

Unknown 23:40

Here we say no. If people have a choice, they’re going to go with a healthier option.

Honey Smith Walls 23:46

Not just them honey. Yeah, the paper industry. It’s the cotton industry, sugar industry, all of it. You can just just go right down the list including Big Pharma. Yeah. And so yeah, there’s a lot of industries that do not want cannabis coming in and replacing them because it will.

Unknown 24:05

They’re already replacing it. I have friends who like I said haven’t smoked since high school. I graduated in the 80s but when they go to Vegas, guess what they do? They go and dispensary and it makes me so happy.

Honey Smith Walls 24:21

Right?  I love that. You do not want me out on the streets without having some cannabis. Before I do that now. And let me just for just for clarification for my audience who understands that when I talk about cannabis, I’m speaking about the marijuana and let me say that differently. That I’m speaking about both THC and the other compounds CBD that you know are most familiar to them. And that the scientists talk about it in a new and different way. Now instead of speaking about the different names of the strains that you know, each person has given those, they talk about it as Type One which is THC Type Two, which is a blend of THC and CBD and Type Three which is CBD.

Unknown 25:36

I have never heard that.

Honey Smith Walls

Yeah. And so that’s how they speak about it and they’re trying to get medical facilities and professionals to see it that way too.

Unknown 25:36

I’m not sure how I feel about that. Let me tell you why. Because I feel that as activists, I’ve been an activist for 51 years, we should be out and about and and calling it what it is and call the cannabinoids what they are. People need to know what the entourage effect is and everything that type one and type two sounds very medical, which might help people. This is the other side so it might help people to dispel the stigma if they see it like that, but I feel that all the work we’ve already done to talk about cannabis as cannabis and not come up with different classifications because I believe in the entourage effect, I don’t take CBD unless it has all the other cannabinoids with it. I don’t do just THC at night I have THC mix with CBD and CBN and valerian root and everything. I’m a whole plant person. And I like that.

Honey Smith Walls 26:35

I agree with you completely and I think I’ve helped you misunderstand what I was trying to say.

Unknown

I could have.

Honey Smith Walls

No but that’s okay. I’m glad you said what you did because I agree with you wholeheartedly.

Bling:

You’ve been listening to another Cannaba Verum podcast with 21st century cannabis Shaman Honey Smith Walls about the importance of using verifiably safe products.

The process of getting a diagnosis from your family doctor and taking your records to a cannabis specialist can lead you to the correct cannabinoid therapy for those issues. Otherwise, you’re just your own guinea pig looking for answers without any foundational knowledge or ability to determine the best choices or strategies.

To find a qualified cannabis expert to help you in your area, visit cannabis clinicians.org. It is a National Society of cannabis experts and you’ll see that link down in my show notes.

Unless otherwise proven by a reputable third party lab test, please be advised that all street weed is contaminated. It may do grave harm to a patient with a delicate immune system who already has inflammatory issues like arthritis, IBS, fibromyalgia or worse.
