Honey Smith Walls 0:00

Welcome to season three of the Cannaba Verum podcast, the cannabis truth podcast. I speak the language of cannabis freely and uncensored while educating my audience on safe use of this live plant therapy. You should know what’s in your cannabis. What’s good and what’s not. It does not come with an FDA stamp of approval yet.

Using cannabis mindfully as medication is a different concept in Western healthcare philosophy, specifically the past 100 years. There’s a lot to learn and reconsider. The information you’ll find here comes straight from the scientists and clinicians doing the work and reporting their findings in real time through various live online outlets. The scientific truth of cannabis is finally getting out and is wide open for all to see at respected medical sites like www.pubmed.gov and JAMA, the Journal of American Medical Association (jamanetwork.com).

I’m right there in the thick of it with all those titans of medicine as a fly on the wall. Because I’m not a doctor. I didn’t go to med school. I did take dozens of private cannabis courses offered by cannabis expert scientists online over the past few years and slowly began to see and understand the bigger picture.

Well, I can talk to people all day long about cannabis… and hopefully inspire them to research the facts as we know them today.

Cannabis is an amazing alternative in health remedies that can reportedly alleviate typical disease problems and troubling side effects caused by synthetic prescriptions. This is Honey Smith Walls, a 21st century cannabis shaman… not a doctor… not a scientist. Raised by nuns and wolves in the verdant cattle pastures of the Oklahoma oil fields. I’m here to amplify the truth of this great big story and language of cannabis in historical, political and scientific terms… so you can make educated decisions about the medicine you choose to ingest.

Seg 1

Dr. Michael Geci2:42

And we either work… you know our behaviors are motivated ultimately, in either those two directions and fear. I think about what Roosevelt said, you know, that we have nothing to fear but fear itself. Yes.

Dr. Michael Geci3:06

You know, one of the things that comes up with these medicines, you know, like psilocybin, like using it for palliative care…  we just had the clubhouse last week on palliative care and this idea that these medicines are able to open us up to not only the connectivity that we have with each other but with higher spirits… with a higher being… with a sense that we are not alone.

This is just a journey for us and you know, the data… and sometimes you get tired of hearing data because it’s fricking life. Why do we always have to talk about data… to support the use of this and that it’s safe and it’s effective, but that using psilocybin in palliative care measures, I mean opens people up to you know, accepting their fear and can embrace death and not that you know, you have to like run to the door smiling with your arms open, but a peacefulness.

Honey Smith Walls 4:26

You can settle…  nervous anxiety,

Dr. Michael Geci4:31

You can just focus on the love that you have with people that are with you and not about you….

Honey Smith Walls 4:44

Just the inevitable. Yeah,

Dr. Michael Geci4:46

And that it’ll all be fine.

Honey Smith Walls 4:49

So we are energy and water and vibration and one.

Dr. Michael Geci4:58

Yeah, you know, I mean, that’s really true and you can break it down to the molecular level and know, there are frequencies for which molecules vibrate. And, that’s measurable, and this whole idea that if we can’t measure it, you know, it doesn’t exist.

Honey Smith Walls 5:23

That’s why I’m being led in the spiritual realms, because you all taught me that. That’s the spiritual realm that can’t be quantified can’t be measured. But it’s there. It’s real.

Dr. Michael Geci5:36

And everybody has to feel it in their own way. You know, it’s sort of like taking medicine. You know, people are really… part of the problem is that we’ve been so incredibly disempowered by the church and by governments to succumb to their will, their will are rules. Right and, and the fact that we really do have a lot more power than think and that part of the whole part of the key to this is giving people a sense of agency back the fact that you can heal yourself, the fact that you can have a communication with God without a priest, you can have a communication with you know, with your spirit. I mean… Yeah, I mean, it’s a weird. So when you have your little thing going up… you should let me know because I’d love to come down and check it out.

Honey Smith Walls 6:58

Do you want to come Crash My Party? It would mean the world to all of us. I will keep you posted.  I’ve got some Harvard types with long pedigrees in biofeedback realms, and all sorts of interesting players.

So I’ll do a little write up and send it to you and keep you posted of when this is going to happen… probably in the fall when it’s going to be a little bit cooler. You know, maybe just depends on where we have it and blah, blah, blah, but want to give you plenty of time to be able to make arrangements. Yes. Let me just say… come crash our party!

Dr. Michael Geci7:43

Yeah, I think that’d be awesome. I’m hoping that I’m going to be able to go to some conferences this year because I missed the live interaction desperately with people.

Honey Smith Walls 8:00

I know what you mean. I’ve only been to one little teeny itty bitty cannabis conference that wasn’t what I thought it was gonna be. But I learned a lot. And there were only about 40 people there. So it wasn’t quite enough, but it was a nice sort of segue into it as you might think of it but gosh, if there’s something coming up down here that you want to attend, let me help you plan it. You know if I can… by making our events so that you can kill two birds with one stone if you know what I mean.

Dr. Michael Geci8:42

Oh, yeah, no, that’d be awesome. I appreciate that.

Honey Smith Walls 8:45

So we’ll look at all the whatever it is that you want to attend down here in Florida and then see if we can’t work something around it so that you can go make the rounds while you’re down here because I’m here to tell you, I want you to meet Dr. Barry Gordon in person if you haven’t already, and see his setup. He’s got the most incredible cannabis medical office down in Venice, Florida that you’ll ever see. And his mash style of sending patients through his system is just a glorious one that I’m always popping off about. But he’s really really really political too. And he’s got his own stuff going on and shows up on clubhouse and other rooms.

But, you know, I’d love for you to meet him and we’ve got a bunch of really fabulous people down here too. Dr. Genester Wilson-King who is also an OB GYN and cannabis expert. You know she’s in the Society of Cannabis Clinicians as their vice president, right? Yeah. Dr. Ford is there too.

Dr. Michael Geci9:55

Yeah, that’s the one that that Pat is the edge. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, and when I when I do my annual membership thing that’s going to be the cannabis association that I joined. i

Honey Smith Walls 10:14

Yeah, fantastic space.

Dr. Michael Geci10:17

That’s the thing….  getting people together to coordinate their activism. I mean, I think that’s the other thing that, you know, I don’t know if it’s ego or what it is that keeps people from interacting in and working more collaboratively. But you know,  I’m as much to blame for that as anybody because, you know, I might reach out once or twice and if I don’t, if I don’t get a response, I let my feelings get hurt and just move on say well, they must not like me, so I have to get over that too.

Honey Smith Walls 10:52

Things have kind of gotten clogged up and and people don’t have as big a team as we might think. It’s just little old me doing all this down here and you know, in my little bubble… But you’re so right, we’ve just got to reconnect physically, and get face to face and and enjoy the cellular vibrations. What do you think of that?

Dr. Michael Geci11:22

Yeah, you know, as a thought I’ll just throw it out there. I mean, you know, we talked about, you know, collaborating and starting something, you know, maybe we could have some sort of festival at my place.

Dr. Mazo Commercial

By Honey Smith Walls

Hey, my friends, I want to give you a tip about a neurologist I know and trust.

Dr. Anthony Mazo is a highly rated specialist here in Melbourne, Florida.

One of the first physicians to research and study cannabis since 2016 when it was legalized in Florida, Dr. Mazo is not quick to prescribe traditional synthetic chemicals when he knows that this gentle live plant therapy will likely give the needed relief.

I know this to be true because I had to see him for my own old lady neuropathy issues. He did not prescribe the usual synthetic stuff. He told me to go get a particular kind of cannabis instead… and use it in a specific way to find relief.

And that is what every doctor in America should have in their little black bag.

His clinic details will be in my show notes for you. Why? Because he’s a trusted cannabis expert in the field of neurology. Dr.Anthony Mazo, a great friend to all of us. In Melbourne, FL at the Brevard Neuro Center.

Dr. Michael Geci 14:00

I mean, I’ve got over 100 acres and I’ve got plenty places people can camp and stuff and I don’t know maybe you know, get people and have a little weekend get together where you could have some educators and music and I don’t know….

Honey Smith Walls 14:21

When’s the best time to do that? Yes, the answer is yes, of course. When’s the best time to have our GECI Cannabis Festival?

Dr. Michael Geci14:36

August would probably be a good time. I mean, August… July. I mean it rarely gets super hot. So, I’m looking at my deck and I’ve got a pond that you can you go swim in and you know, there’s a couple orchards and plenty of hiking but yeah, July August. Yeah, we should. We should kind of like I don’t know, just kind of brainstorm about that at some point and think about this.

Honey Smith Walls 15:19

You know some good bands up there who would like come out and play live music? Right?

Dr. Michael Geci15:24

I could find people I think, you know, I think there’s you know, I don’t know if anybody would have heard of them, but I think there’s people that would.

Honey Smith Walls 15:34

Just need good music for loving each other around. That’s all… we don’t need great big names. You know. Let’s keep it real.

Dr. Michael Geci15:43

Yeah, maybe by then I’ll have a few songs on my banjo. I got my banjo back out and I’ve been diddling.

Honey Smith Walls 15:50

You’re talkin my kind of language now! I’m bringing up my recorder. I’ll bring up my lute. I’ll bring up my bells. I can’t wait. This is a done deal. We just have to find the coordinator who’s going to set it all up for us and and get it going. This is this is fantastic. Michael, this is great. Really! Yeah, let’s do a little festival and have a little love-in Geci style. You have any apple trees up there? How many orchards up there on that 100 acres?

Dr. Michael Geci16:39

Apple trees. I got tons of apples I actually have. I’m hoping that my plum trees actually produce a harvest of plums last year they had little plums, but they fell off. And when does that happen? Tons of apple trees I’ve got I’ve got a peach tree that’s pretty proficient. Oh my goodness, pears, pears. Don’t the pears come in till the very end of the year like end of September October before they ripen up enough to use. apples.  I mean dozens. I mean probably hundreds of apple trees with the wild ones. I mean, there’s tons.

Honey Smith Walls 17:23

Well it sounds like that would be an awesome fun thing to do… have an apple picking contest? Yeah, and an apple Bake Off over a campfire? Who can make the best campfire concoction with apples?

Dr. Michael Geci17:40

Yeah,  it’s sounding like a festival. Hopefully you don’t have a permit for it. But you know, that’s the thing I’m out in the country. So I don’t know that there’s a need.

Honey Smith Walls 17:57

It’d be a private party. Yeah. Open to our friends… the public.

Dr. Michael Geci18:02

So yeah, let’s plan this.

Honey Smith Walls 18:06

This is a fabulous idea. And you’re just the sweetest thing for suggesting it. I’m so tickled. God I love a good farm story.

Dr. Michael Geci18:20

So well, hopefully we can… it’s one thing to talk about. It’s another thing to pull it off. So you know, we got it, right.

Honey Smith Walls 18:31

But let’s see what we can do. And thank you for the inspiration and the idea because we’ll be doing something down here and there’s no reason why we can’t do something up there and it would be fantastic to have your participation in this and help inspire other people to really get involved.

Dr. Michael Geci18:54

Yeah, I mean, I think that’s one of the things that you need, is to just be there? There needs to be some involvement because that’s what people need people. People need connection.

Honey Smith Walls 19:05

And remember how many people went out to Woodstock because they heard a rumor.

Dr. Michael Geci19:10

Ya know, I don’t remember how many but I mean, you know, it’s just right down the road. About an hour and a half.

Honey Smith Walls 19:23

No kidding.

Dr. Michael Geci19:24

Yeah. Yeah, you know, that the whole Woodstock thing that? Yeah. And then how that got corrupted…. like they were going to have like a 50th anniversary of Woodstock. And they couldn’t. They couldn’t get it off the ground because there was so much legal haggling over things. Oh, for heaven’s sakes, it’s never just never happened.

Honey Smith Walls 19:53

Which is why small, nice, intimate little affairs are probably best.

Dr. Michael Geci19:59

Yeah, yeah. Keep them a little bit more. controlled.

Honey Smith Walls 20:02

Yeah. All right. Well, I’ve got an awful lot to think about and people to talk to now. Now that I’ve got this idea going on in my pretty little head as somebody used to say, so thank you.

We’re gonna find you on on clubhouse. Every Saturday at 10am. Eastern. It’s called Cannabinoids and the Human Body with Dr. Michael Geci, who has been such a lovely, lovely friend to all of us to come and spend all of this time with us. Michael, thank you so much for your leadership in this space and your knowledge and your love and concern. I feel your passion intensely and so do a lot of other people. And you really do move and shake the rest of us. You do. I want you to know that.

Dr. Michael Geci20:58

Well you are enormously kind and gracious. So thank you very much for saying that. So it’s been a pleasure. And I look forward to my third visit on your show sometime in the future.

Honey Smith Walls 21:14

You’re the best and I’ll see you on Saturday on

Clubhouse… All right. We’ll see you later. Take care. Bye bye.

You’ve been listening to another Cannaba Verum podcast with 21st century cannabis shaman Honey Smith Walls about the importance of using verifiably safe products. The process of getting a diagnosis from your family doctor and taking your records to a cannabis specialist can lead you to the correct cannabinoid therapy for those issues. Otherwise, you’re just your own guinea pig looking for answers without any foundational knowledge or ability to determine the best choices or strategies.

It is a national society of cannabis experts and you’ll see that link down in my show notes.

Sources:

Cannaba Verum is Latin for Cannabis Truth. Sourcing factual information about cannabis hasn’t always been easy for a variety of reasons. However now because of modern innovations, it is. My sources are from leaders in cannabis science like:

Roger Adams, U.S. Organic Chemist who isolated the structure of CBD,

Raphael Mechoulam, Israeli Organic Chemist who isolated the structure of THC,

Ethan Russo, Dir R&D International Cannabis and Cannabinoids Institute

Dustin Sulak, DO – my favorite doctor at healer.com, teaching the art of Cannabis Healing to the world, and other industry greats like:

Rev. Dr. Kymron DeCesare, Ed Rosenthal, Jack Herer, Michael Backes, and Michael Pollen and so many more… plus I use classical sites like: PubMed.gov, JAMAnetwork.com, ResearchGate.com. I listen to several daily podcasts to keep up with the latest cannabis news across the nation and throughout the world like: Dr. Codi Peterson et al on The Cannigma PodcastMJTodayDaily.com and MarijuanaMoment.net.  I trust the CBDProject.org and CannabisScienceTech.com. I watch the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA) at: thecannabisindustry.org and many more like: NCIA’s Cannabis Industry VOICE (CannabisRadio.com)

Over past episodes of Cannaba Verum, we’ve listened to some amazing scientists and medical professionals talk about their discoveries and patient successes as hundreds of questionable compounds rise to the public grasp. I am especially interested in the pharmacists movement becoming an integral part of this new medicinal choice.

Watch this machine roll into action through conversations with pharmacy doctors all over the nation like Dr. Leah Johnson out West and Dr. Alan Ao up North. There are so many more but these two have come on my show to explain the situation and it’s fascinating.

You’ll find Citations available on my podcast blog at cannabaverum.com

PS: Helping society get past the fear of using cannabis will be a lifelong journey for me. This industry is just opening up and most patients and doctors are seriously cannabis naive and need help understanding where to turn for trustworthy information.

If you need help opening that cannabis discussion with your family doctor,  please reach out and grab the Dear Doctor Letter I wrote for this exact purpose. It will explain your decision to try cannabis and ask for their help in monitoring your labs and progress. It will also show them where they can find medical research on the subject of your diagnosis and the effects of cannabis.

You’ll find that letter at cannabaverum.com
