Cannaba Verum 032 Old Surprises
Honey Smith Walls 0:07
Welcome to the Cannaba Verum podcast, the cannabis truth podcast. I speak the language of cannabis freely and uncensored, while educating my audience on the safe use of this live Plant Therapy. You should know what’s in your cannabis, what’s good and what’s not. It does not come with an FDA stamp of approval yet, using cannabis mindfully, as medication is a different concept in the healthcare philosophy of the past 100 years. There’s a lot to learn and consider cannabis is not dangerous, but it is not harmless, either. This is honey Smith walls, a 21st century cannabis shaman here to explain the language of cannabis in historical, political, and scientific terms, so you can make educated decisions about the medicine you ingest.
Hello My Friends,
I just got off a zoom medi-call with my neurologist to follow up with all the tests done in the last month to figure out the cause of this debilitating pain in my hands.
So we found I have 3 herniated and 2 bulging disks from C5 to C8 (which is down the back of my neck and between my shoulder blades) that’s causing the problem. He advised me to visit with a surgeon to see what his recommendation was… And then he began to talk about prescriptions for dealing with my pain and misery.
But zzzzzzzz… my ears went numb, my face felt hot, my eyes watered, I could no longer focus. I felt like I’d just been whipped about in a roller coaster as my imagination leapt about the confines of my jumbled mind. I just don’t know how I’m gonna manage when this gets worse…I felt totally deflated.
Enstead of the scary talk I thought he was gonna use to convince me I needed neck or spinal surgery, he reminded me this didn’t happen overnight… I’ve already lived with it for a long time and it just hurts more now. Which we CAN manage. And then… he began talking about RSO and gel patches! Another whiplash!
For those of you who are new to cannabis, these terms are generally reserved for patients in pretty bad pain from cancer or tumors. RSO is short for Rick Simpson Oil… a black tarry concentrated cannabis goo named after the guy who generously made the recipe famous for free in the 60’s that comes with stories of great relief, improvement in quality of life, and recovery from all kinds of morbidity. Break cough cough
What? Dr. Mazo just told me to start using RSO! And then… he suggested I use a specific dispensary named MUV to buy my RSO products because that company started out as a regular pharmacy so he really trusts their knowledge and commitment to pharmaceutical grade products that are strictly processed without contamination.
WOOOOOW! I just learned something new about a dispensary that readjusted my Big Pharma attitude. All of a sudden I’m grateful for their stringent scientific order and trust it over other dispensaries whose background I’m not aware of. Well isn’t that a twist in fortune. I had another recent attitude change about a huge corporation recently. I’d been boycotting Walmart for years but guess where I ran when they offered the Covid 19 vaccine to me…. I’m not stupid! And it’s another lesson in the power of BIG to get a big job done. Why we need big government and why we can appreciate some of the great altruistic power that a large corporation has and can use to help the world. Cooperation between corporate and government.
Dr. Mazo’s advice sounded right for me… I love having the recommendation of a respected neurologist who was the first medical marijuana doctor in Melbourne, FL.
I met Dr. Anthony Mazo at an industry convention some years ago and we became friends. He and his wife built a beautiful practice in Melbourne and when his patients began outliving their prognoses… they fessed up to him and said they’d been using cannabis. Up til then, Dr. Mazo had been as propagandized against marijuana like every other doctor on the planet. But the statistics of his living patients didn’t lie… he began investigating the science of the plant and came to see the truth very quickly.
I love telling yall about this. Dr. Mazo has so many stories of recovery from his own dying patients that it’s hard to believe we have to convince legislators to regard the positive science instead of the old propaganda.
I just called Senator Wright’s office this morning to give him a piece of my mind about them trying to “cap THC with limits”. Once again, corruption rears its ugly head. Why are they trying to do the doctor’s job? How do they know what a patient needs in dosage? Where are they getting their information? Whose pockets are they in? Is it Big Pharma? Alcohol? Cotton? Tree Paper Corporations? Private Prisons? Who?
The majority of the planet wants cannabis. Who is stopping it and why when Science tells us it’s good and it would save our suffering people, economies and infrastructures around the world??? The answer is corruption and it must be called out. History has taught us to watch for it, shine a light on it, and eradicate corruption wherever it resides. I hope the day has finally come for cannabis corruption too.
Break
So Dr. Mazo tells me that his favorite dispensary, MUV, has a gel patch that works for about 3 days. That sounds wonderful to me since my sleep is disturbed about every hour during the night. I need more help. But since RSO or any kind of cannabis is so expensive and health insurance doesn’t pay for it, I’m left with a decision to go back to synthetic medication to gain quicker control over the pain. Especially since I’ve been sleeping so poorly for more than a couple weeks. The pain got substantially worse. I even stopped eating dairy and meat to alleviate the inflammation I was sure was causing a lot of it. Have you ever seen a fat vegan??? I’ll send you a picture.
I’m still in the middle of changing diets and I absolutely HATE having to think about food all the time. But when you’re limited like this, then wooooHOOOO here come the carbs! Breads, taters!!! And have you tasted the new vegan foods from the frozen section? HOLY COW! Who KNEW! I can totally veg out on plant burgers… I adore the lunch times smoothies and snacking is as delicious as a cold banana with hot dark chocolate and walnuts drizzled all over it. I’m just sayin… I’m not hurtin for food.
So once I get rid of some extraneous underlying conditions (eating meat and dairy) that exacerbate my level of pain (thru inflammation), then what’s left may be way more tolerable to manage and hopefully with less medication.
I don’t mind the thought of being on cannabis forever… because I know what the side-effects are and they are totally acceptable. But I cry to think of having to start those damn synthetic pills again because of the side-effects! And I feel like doctors will keep me on SOME kind of prescription till I die. In fact, dear Dr. Mazo warned me NOT to look at the list of side-effects so I could just concentrate on what my body feels and not what my imagination may conceive. But I’ve been there before on a handful of synthetics… and my imagination did NOT conceive the brain fog that was devastating to me. That’s pretty scary and what I’m so afraid of when I’m trying to create a new business for myself that depends on my mind and personality.
But I trust Dr. Mazo to help me through it and I’m so comforted by his cannabis knowledge. He was able to remind me to be a patient. So now I have to take my own pain seriously and do better at managing it. Nobody else is going to for me. I’m capable and have to be my own alchemist to find the right medicine in the right form with the correct dosage. Every thing I keep telling you.
Dr. Mazo also reminded me that until insurance pays for cannabis, we may not be able to afford all the relief we need. So using synthetic prescriptions that are covered by insurance is very helpful. I might add that every drip or puff of cannabis you ingest will try to make any other medications work more effectively. That’s it’s job. So I’ll probably use a lot less than most people who don’t combine cannabis to their regimen.
I have a prescription at the drug store for an anti-inflammatory and a nerve blocker. And then Dr. Mazo said I should get a cannabis gel-patch and RSO (Rick Simpson Oil)… the super concentrated product that helps serious issues… from the MUV Dispensary. We’ll start there and see how I do. Phew!
And now you see what it’s like to go to a doctor for some serious issue and how easily cannabis can be incorporated into your regular physician’s little black box of tools to help you feel better. There was no confusion about getting a second opinion
So it’s 24 hours later and I just got back from getting some fresh meds. But this time, with Dr. Mazo’s recommendation, I bought a full-spectrum concentrate of RSO and some RSO capsules to use for getting better sleep, and if I need quick relief in the night should I awaken, I have a fresh vape pen with an indica concentrate that should put me right back to sleep. I also got those gel patches he said his other patients were finding great success with. I asked him what kind of malady is having the most success with cannabis in his practice and he said patients living with seizure disorders.
I haven’t picked up the nerve blocker and anti-inflammatory from Walgreens yet… my hands feel so much better already. I put a gel pack on my hand and one on my hip and took some RSO tincture and rolled it around inside my cheeks and now I’m sitting out back with my pack enjoying this beautiful spring day and you. It’s amazing how much better you feel when you find your sweet spot.
Thank you for spending some time with me to learn about the language of cannabis and how to use it safely and effectively. Now that I realize I needed a lot more to help my kind of pain, I’m so grateful to my friend, Dr. Anthony Mazo of Brevard Neuro Center in Melbourne, FL for reminding me of all the different ways to help myself with cannabis and incorporate the use of other medicines in the toolbox at our disposal to help control the cost and pain.
Remember what RSO stands for? The guy who invented a concentrated cannabis recipe that helps more serious conditions… Rick Simpson… Oil. RSO… ask about it if you are an experienced MMPatient and your level of pain has ruined your life. But we sure don’t want an inexperienced patient to start there. It’s extremely concentrated. I’ve been a cannabis patient for years and trying to manage the growing pain of bulging and herniated disks. So now I understand why the small amount of cannabis I was trying to get by on that was fine for a few years ago body pains… just wasn’t enough. My body changed. My pain level changed. So my medications should’ve changed but didn’t. Hence… more pain, less sleep, less energy and less productive. It seems so obvious now that I look back but pain can prevent your mind from thinking clearly. Lesson learned. Shaman, heal thyself… Pax Vobiscum Yall
