Intro

Honey Smith Walls 0:00

Welcome to season four of the Cannaba Verum podcast, the cannabis truth podcast.

I speak the language of cannabis freely and uncensored while educating my audience on safe use of this live plant therapy. You should know what’s in your cannabis…what’s good and what’s not.

It does not come with an FDA stamp of approval yet. Using cannabis mindfully as medication is a different concept in Western healthcare philosophy, specifically of the past 100 years. There’s a lot to learn and reconsider.

The information you’ll find here comes straight from scientists and clinicians doing the work and reporting their findings in real time through various live online outlets.

The scientific truth of cannabis is finally getting out and is wide open for all to see at respected medical sites like pubmed.gov and JAMA, the Journal of American Medical Association… and I’m right there in the thick of it with all those titans of medicine… as a fly on the wall.

Because I’m not a doctor, nor did I go to med school. But I did take dozens of private cannabis courses and still engage in continuing education offered by cannabis expert scientists over the past few years and slowly began to see and understand the bigger picture.

Now I talk to people all day long about cannabis and hopefully inspire them to research the facts as we know them today. Cannabis is an amazing alternative in health remedies. It can reportedly alleviate typical disease problems and troubling side effects, even those caused by synthetic prescriptions.

This is Honey Smith Walls, a 21st century cannabis shaman, not a doctor, not a scientist, raised by nuns and wolves in the verdant cattle pastures of the Oklahoma oil fields. I’m here to amplify the truth of this great big story of cannabis in historical, political, scientific and spiritual terms, so you can make educated decisions about the medicine you choose to ingest.

Honey Smith Walls 0:04

Do I have Penelope?

Penelope Hamilton 2:52

Yes, good morning, Honey.

Honey Smith Walls 2:54

Good morning. What a pleasure it is to spend a little time with you. Likewise. You may not know this, but I’ve been hanging out with you for the past couple of hours on your website.

Penelope Hamilton 3:07

Oh really?

Honey Smith Walls 3:09

I really like your videos. They’re so helpful and instructive. And I really dig the same backsplash in the kitchen. That fabulous silvery stuff you got going on… girl, I like that.

Penelope Hamilton 3:29

Well thank you… gotta make the best of what I have.

Honey Smith Walls 3:36

Absolutely. Why don’t you introduce yourself to my audience and explain to them why I’m so tickled to get to meet you and find out what you’re all about.

Penelope Hamilton 3:45

Thank you. Well, my name is Penelope Hamilton Crosby and actually I use the Hamilton my maiden name a lot more a lot easier to say and understand.

Honey Smith Walls 3:57

I’m a Smith…. I’m a Smith kid. So I do the same thing. Honey Smith Walls because you know…  love my maiden name. So anyway, how’d you get into this?

Penelope Hamilton 4:11

Wow, you know, this is a personal journey for me and that’s what brought me into cannabis. I am 51 years old. So I am in that era where you know what… Nancy Reagan scared me to death.

Honey Smith Walls 4:29

She scared me too. I’m so glad you said that out loud.

Penelope Hamilton 4:33

Yeah, I don’t know any other way to say it other than to just state the truth. And you know I was raised with that. That little frying pan demonstration…

Honey Smith Walls 4:43

Yeah with the egg. Yeah, your brain on drugs, your fried brain…

Penelope Hamilton 4:47

And I was a bit of a, I don’t know, I was an artist in school and a, you know, a music nerd and I loved studying and but I was always very ill. So I have like long illness and I struggled all my life and you know, the medications just piled up and the misdiagnosis or I should say undiagnosed as well.

Honey Smith Walls 5:15

Which is a misdiagnosis.

Penelope Hamilton 5:17

Yes, exactly. So anyways, throughout the years… piles of medications, I call it poly-pharming when they just layer them. And then another one to solve the problem that this one causes. Yeah.

And it got to the point in my 40s where I was pretty much bedridden. I was using a walker and a wheelchair at times, always a cane. I was in so much pain. I had lost my mom. She was 58… my world crashed.

Oh, depression, the anxiety you know, and then Oh, more pills… more. And Honey. I don’t think I would have survived if somebody hadn’t helped me with cannabis. You know that’s the day it all began. I had nothing to lose. I was writing… plotting my own demise. Yeah, I was. Yeah, I was on Google seeing how many of the pills that I had in front of me. I had the anti-psychotics in front of mw… it was horrible. So you know, that’s how it started.

Honey Smith Walls 6:27

Yeah, I hear this story so often. And I didn’t realize but I’d begun highlighting women leading in cannabis like yourself, and it’s always a story and it starts the same way… I was in pain. And I was invested in in western sick care. With my doctor. Right. Polly-pharming me. And, you know, it’s just our madness way of living in this world. And until somebody introduces us to the way of cannabis therapy, it’s pretty miserable.

Penelope Hamilton 7:16

Oh, absolutely. Yeah. And I know my story is not unique, you know? Quickly, it’s like wow.

Honey Smith Walls 7:24

But as part of the collective… it is so important for everybody to hear your story. This is what we’re trying to do to change our collective mind about Plant Therapy and one that has been irrationally and corporately stolen from us.

I want to backtrack that first adjective irrational, it wasn’t irrational, it was rational to them, to not allow us, the public, to engage in cannabis because of the sake of the politics going on behind it.

But now that we have, how did you? So somebody introduced you to it and you began investigating its properties, I’m sure what led you to where you are. Now….tell us this story. And it’s wonderful. Especially when our audience is gonna get to see your website, which by the way is thecannabiscommunity.org

Isn’t that lovely? That just gives me goosebumps and I feel part of it already. And I already signed up to receive emails. I just want my audience to know and you can too… just go there and sign up to be part of thecannabiscommunity.org

So tell us how all that happened…

Penelope Hamilton 8:48

Well, yeah, I’ll say that it was just an edible and a childhood Mother, I should say, yeah. It was. It was devastating. I lost a classmate. She was in her 30s from cancer. And you know, the timing and the universe brought the mother of that classmate of mine and I together and… I was an only child… just lost my mother… some years back where she had lost her daughter.

So she had gotten stronger and came back. But she had such a giving heart. And she was a believer in this plant. And she’s like, Honey, I gotta get you off this poison. Oh, my God.

I would stay at her home a week at a time and I mean, it was just amazing. She cared for me, fed me and within 30 days, I was off all of those… sixteen years…. Yes, 16 years of opiates in my body and I just started replacing each dose… so that’s how it all began. It’s funny because Julie says, Oh, honeygirl, I had no idea of honeygirl that you are gonna get much better… she gets so excited.

Honey Smith Walls 10:15

So precious. So you still have her? She’s still a shaman? How precious.

Penelope Hamilton 10:21

It’s been about six years or so now. So since since…January was my anniversary. Six years this January.

Honey Smith Walls 10:33

We don’t know where you are. Do you mind telling our audience where you are located?

Penelope Hamilton 10:37

I am in upstate New York… it is a huge difference than New York City. So I like to clarify that.

Honey Smith Walls 10:45

Oh yeah. I had a best friend who lived in Gloversville… grew up in Gloversville. As you know, in the 40s and 50s.

Penelope Hamilton 10:51

We were kind of I’m born and raised at the time of all this happening. I was kind of smack in sort of in the middle in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Beautiful yes it is. And now we’re live Buffalo. We had to sell the home. We lost everything. We moved out here so I could be closer to my dad. Not so that I could care for my father but more so he could help my family care for me.

But today I’m a new person and like you say… I have this thecannabiscommunity.org that I’m a partner with. So in that boom, I never expected any of this to happen.

Honey Smith Walls 11:40

Well, it’s a beautiful segue into the compassionate side of the universe, isn’t it? Yeah. To come into the cannabis plant therapy and what you’re giving to the world is so special.

I would love to be able to go into the kitchen and make my own gummies but as your video says, you know a lot of us are afraid of wasting our precious medication that is so expensive.

I’m down here in Florida and on a tight budget and it’s expensive to go get cannabis that you are certain of…well at least comes with a third party Certificate of Analysis to make sure that it’s free of contaminations.

So that’s what made me sick and led me to cannabis science to begin with. Legacy weed from a street dealer for three years straight. And being fed the most obnoxious sources of contamination to my already really sad immune system.

So I was getting sicker and sicker until like you… I was heading for the wheelchair. And my body whispered to me, “You’re going to die…. If you don’t do something!”

And right at that moment, I had the TV on and a commercial came on for Learn Sativa University in Orlando, Florida. And I instantly realized, oh my god, I bet it’s the cannabis that’s made me this sick because nothing else has changed. I’ve just been using this same stuff from the same dealer. I have no idea where it came from, except I’m sure it’s that you know.

And then I picked up the phone and enrolled in class and stopped using that weed and instantly felt better. Oh wow. And amazingly began learning about cannabis. And although it was… at that time, the Farm Act did not even pass so they couldn’t even legally teach us how to grow hemp. They had to teach us how to grow tomato plants that’s just like growing hemp, they said… yeah, right.

So they are the ones who introduced me to the science and that’s when I really began loving this plant and what it can do to change our world completely, our species completely. And the fact that you’ve got this free educational video that teaches a person how to just walk into their kitchen and do this thing for themselves saves you money.

So much.

You can do it in all 50 states no matter what level of marijuana is legal or not because it works with hemp as well and the emphasis on medication and doing your gummies you know with hemp changes everything because it changes the the the composition of the compounds when it goes through your liver and it’s more potent and it lasts longer.

That’s why it’s so much more effective when you eat and swallow your medication and it goes through your liver. It takes a little longer, but you could also let those gummies just relax and rest in side your mouth until they melt and then you get the benefit of that going through those little bloody capillaries inside of your your mouth and under your tongue.

And then it just goes straight through your blood brain barrier and into your bloodstream. So that’s another way of allowing that beautiful gummy that you just made with the help of Penelope in a wonderful fun video on thecannabiscommunity.org

Free cannabis help for you.

Penelope Hamilton 16:19

That’s what I want to do.

Honey Smith Walls 16:26

Yeah, I get that, you know, we battled with what do we do? You know, how

do we monetize it? And all of that… and so I’m just jumping up now because you have the coolest things and tchotchkes to buy…  clothes and all on your site. They are so darling… it’s real couture. It’s real cannabis couture that just made me laugh and giggle and think oh, yeah, I want to buy some of that. I do. And so you’re doing it right.

Penelope Hamilton 16:55

Well, you know, you battle over how do I present this and you just want that information to get out there for you. And that’s how I got involved. Yeah, helping people in the community. And they were just like, Oh.

Honey Smith Walls 17:09

You are a Woman in Weed.

Penelope Hamilton 17:13

We are looking for sponsors… for companies, because we have a directory listing. So we can put you out there… and so I am so excited. I gotta tell you my recipe is ranking on the first page for RSO Gummies! Oh my gosh! Yes, Google has found it and I’ve been in slot number two for three years in different queries. You know how you ask Google a question for THC, how to make the THC gummies? I have the recipe all written out. I saw that. So that’s an excellent spot for somebody and I need to find myself a sponsor that wants to have an Ad on there and get several sponsors.

Honey Smith Walls 17:59

Yeah and if you’re listening, you can reach penny at thecannabiscommunity.org.

So yes, we want you to have sponsors and angels and to uplift what you’re doing so that the education of cannabis relief may remain free to me.

Penelope Hamilton 18:19

Yes, remain free. excellent educational articles we’re putting out weekly.

Honey Smith Walls 18:24

Fantastic. Fantastic. Well, I’m really tickled to find you and to know that you’re available through this website and all that you’re doing. I’m sitting here looking at making topical pain salve.

Penelope Hamilton 18:42

Yeah, I’ve got to get that one written out. But you know, that’s just what saved me and all these things are things that I had to do because I didn’t have the money. I had to do this illegally. I was illegally healed. If you look back at the dates in New York State,  that’s what got me into fighting for legislation. So I would go to my capitol. I have worked… I still do. I meet every Friday with a wonderful group of people. We’re all volunteers. We read legislation we call our representatives… God love you… we create white papers and but there’s really not a lot of people that will fight on the medical side. You know, it’s a lot on that Recreational side, which I fully support because we’re all getting the benefit of the plant and that’s what I go and try to teach.

Honey Smith Walls 19:30

Well honey, why do you suppose that is there? There’s not enough professional medical support and legislative solicitation. Is that what you’re saying?

Penelope Hamilton 19:45

There’s not Yeah, there’s not a lot of profit in it. And there’s not a lot of people that are going to want to put their dollars behind lobbying efforts for the patient, the patient’s needs. It’s always the company’s needs if it’s going to be lobbying efforts on the medical side. But you know, the patient side is very difficult to get through. So, I kind of have to piggyback on the the recreational people, you know, they’ll say hello in the door, and I’ll take anything I can get.

Honey Smith Walls 20:19

So if I may sort of introduce you to some of my friends up in New York, and the legislative work that they’re doing. I’ll hook you up with some people who you should talk to. And some of those are involved in… they’re very young people… and they’re already involved in the PharmDs that are coming out of the university up there. That’s the first university to make Masters in Cannabis Science. And they’re making pharmacy doctors…they’re getting their masters… and so who better to begin getting masters in cannabinoidology, right… than a scientist in pharmacology, right? In compounds and understanding compounds?

Because it’s those guys who have to understand all the various compounds of the world at any given moment when a patient is saying, “what do I do with this and what’s it going to contraindicate with? Can I take this with that or not?

And it’s your pharmacist that understands all those chemicals, right? And so up there in your neck of the woods are some of the states that are saying, Well, you gotta have a pharmacy in your cannabis dispensary. And I love that idea.

Penelope Hamilton 21:49

Yeah, but it may not stick…

Honey Smith Walls 22:00

Which is why I think maybe we ought to have some government subsidies or something for putting pharmacists in every dispensary. You know? The government decided that medical marijuana dispensaries were necessary to stay open during COVID. If they already believe that and it’s already legal in most of the states in the United States, then, we’ve just got to stop this nonsense. It’s just the politics that’s holding us back.

Penelope Hamilton 22:33

I’d love to take you with me to my capital… to help educate about how sick you got, because right now, lab testing is something I want to fight… for me. We have home cultivation in New York State for medical patients and adults, but right now the only ones that can are the patients, but there’s no access to labs… so they can’t test their product. They can’t find out the strength they can’t find out about what they’re processing,  is it safe… so,  I’m very upset over this.

Honey Smith Walls 23:12

I am too and my audience listens to me whine about the state of affairs of testing. And, and always… you got to check for your certificate of analysis on any product that you buy.

And if you’re still buying off the street, I’m sorry. And there are ways that you can help mitigate some of that damage from contamination. That you are surely getting in Street Weed. There are ways to mitigate that.

Dr. Mazo Commercial

By Honey Smith Walls

Hey, my friends, I want to give you a tip about a neurologist I know and trust.

Dr. Anthony Mazo is a highly rated specialist here in Melbourne, Florida.

One of the first physicians to research and study cannabis since 2016 when it was legalized in Florida, Dr. Mazo is not quick to prescribe traditional synthetic chemicals when he knows that this gentle live plant therapy will likely give the needed relief.

I know this to be true because I had to see him for my own old lady neuropathy issues. He did not prescribe the usual synthetic stuff. He told me to go get a particular kind of cannabis instead… and use it in a specific way to find relief.

And that is what every doctor in America should have in their little black bag.

His clinic details will be in my show notes for you. Why? Because he’s a trusted cannabis expert in the field of neurology. Dr.Anthony Mazo in Melbourne, FL at the Brevard Neuro Center.

Healer Promo:

Friends, I’m just stunned to realize how difficult it is to find trustworthy high quality CBD products that are full spectrum, whole plant, with all the natural compounds extracted from the plant for you to consume… as nature provided.

They don’t carry it in the dispensaries in my town… they push their own isolate brands and that’s just not good enough for me. It doesn’t have all the compounds.

I’ve heard a lot of complaints about how to find consistent over the counter CBD products and I have a solution. Last year I became an affiliate partner with Healer hemp products.

Dr. Dustin Sulak, DO who created this line is truly one of the great leaders in cannabis therapy… giving his patients relief from their issues for many years with his Healer CBD products that can be shipped to all 50 states.

Healer products will give you a full spectrum whole plant entourage effect of all the compounds that grow naturally in the cannabis plant. You’ll have the best opportunity to manage your aches and pains or anxiety or spasming organs with a full spectrum whole plant product… working perfectly together… in synergy within your body… to manage what’s happening.

I use his acidic version of cannabidiol or CBDa. It has everything plus a lot more of the compound which Dr. Sulak and other leaders in this industry have found to be more potent, thereby using less, which ends up making a big difference to your wallet. But it also adds many benefits to your body.

Start lifting your quality of life with Healer CBD products today and check out that sweet discount just waiting for you in the link below.

Honey Smith Walls 26:30

You could go to for instance, a good hemp company that carries Certificate of Analysis, that third party lab test… and you could use mostly hemp throughout your day and only use that street weed, when you have to, for the pain… you know for the acute pain moment.

So that’s… I’m just suggesting… a way to mitigate the contamination if you’re still having to buy street weed. So yes, it’s always contaminated. I’m so happy to hear you talk about third party lab testing. It’s just the most important thing for your medicine.

And our… I’m sorry No, I beg your pardon. I’m such a blabber mouth today. I’ve got some really good weed and I had a puff before I came on. So I’m like Chatty Cathy, but please, what were you about to say?

Penelope Hamilton 28:01

Unfortunately… our New York State Medical dispensaries will not disclose the third party lab testing the COA’s as we call them… where patients are not allowed to see the Certificate of Analysis. And the profile is not tested and shown to a patient.

Oh, that’s just ridiculous.

It means there’s no lesser cannabinoids and we really don’t have any available either. And we have a lot of isolate medications and we don’t have many full-spectrum… but we do now. In fact… I think you got whole flower in Florida before we did. I mean it took a long time for us to even get the flower.

Honey Smith Walls 28:42

Holy moly. Yeah, so I had no idea it’s so crazy up there. Yeah yeah, yeah. Every state has different rules.

Penelope Hamilton 28:50

Retail adult use is here but the medical is really getting ignored now.

Honey Smith Walls 28:58

Oh, that’s just crazy. I heard Canada was trying to take away one of their medical marijuana edicts. Oh, and just have it open. You know, I would feel better using my own cannabis than I’m growing if I knew how to grow it well and if I had the ability or means to grow it… lalalalala… you know and all of that. I personally know how to but a lot of people aren’t farmers. You know, they’re just not plant people and don’t know how to grow… not that it’s that hard. But down here you have to have the room… and they get so big… and they need lots of light… They need lots of love. They need certain nutrients and all of that. So you really do have to kind of baby and take care of them…

Penelope Hamilton 29:49

There’s a lot of bad products on the market. Then again, now they’re going to harm themselves again, you know, and this is when that mold can hit.

Honey Smith Walls 29:59

The molds and mildews and pesticides you use and then the little bugs and stuff… Dr. Ethan Russo impressed upon me many many years ago… He’s one of the leading scientists in cannabinoidology said it was the autopsies that proved the Aspergillus mold growing in their cannabis is what killed his patients up in New York State. And not the cannabis. It’s never the cannabis that kills the patient, right? It’s always the contamination within it. Yeah. So you know, New York and all of our states federally even have to get right with testing for the people. This is just a political hoopla mess. The current president finally allowed testing… human testing for Christ’s sakes.

Finally this year… 2023.

Penelope Hamilton 31:02

Oh, I know it’s just it’s hard to believe…  hard to believe. Yeah, these basic things. Yeah. It’s just a plant people. Yeah.

Honey Smith Walls 31:11

So tell us what The Cannabis Community has in mind for this year coming up. Do you have big plans?

Penelope Hamilton 31:19

Oh, always. I think just trying to meet the needs of the community. And how we do that is… we have private Facebook groups and they’re multi state. So we’ve got like a main group that has Illinois… that was our base state that it started in… so they all began as medical patients, but then we dropped the medical name to be more inclusive.

And we found out by actually doing an actual survey that most people identify as medical cannabis consumers, whether they have a medical card or not. And we all know there’s many reasons that you may not get a medical card. There’s a lot of reasons that you can’t.. or you avoid it… and so many people are treating something (unknowingly) and getting the benefit.

So anyways, we have Facebook groups. We’ve got Maryland, Pennsylvania, Missouri. The main group has over 20,000 people in there. So it’s a place they can be safe. It’s private. They can ask questions, they can host anonymous if they need to.

Yes, we help them and I’m very, very happy.

I’ve been working with Compassionate Clinics of America now for quite a few years. And they partnered with us and we have discounts for our community members. And I can help people get a medical cannabis card if they wish in over 24 states now… Wow. Yeah. And it’s all telemedicine and I trust these guys… and if there’s a problem I know the owner…

Honey Smith Walls 32:58

Who are they? Say them again? And their link is what? How do we get to them?

Penelope Hamilton 33:03

Yeah, their company. It’s, it’s mycompassionateclinic.com I think is the actual website but it’s compassionate clinics of America and they’re all over our website. So if you go to our website…

Honey Smith Walls 33:18

So we just get to them through you. Yeah, fantastic at theCannabiscommunity.org

Penelope Hamilton 33:23

Right. You’ll want to get the discounts. There you go. Each state has a discount code I can get patients… and their renewal is cheaper too. Fantastic.  I’ve always paid full price in New York. So now I’m going to be going there too.

Honey Smith Walls 33:41

Well, down here in Florida, your renewal is annual for the state card that you get and every… god I can’t remember,  it’s like nine or 10 months you have to go see a doctor to get renewed. Oh, wow. And it’s just damn weird. You know?

So again, the politics of each state is different. We can’t grow our own. But we do have dispensaries like 7-elevens everywhere. And every medical marijuana dispensary by law has to be third party lab tested for every product but that is not true for hemp products that you buy over the counter.

And so there’s a lot of hemp products at every gas station and dollar store and people who really don’t offer tested products. Please thank you for saying it out loud. My audience hears that a lot? Yeah. So you know. It’s so much easier to have somebody help you understand cannabis than trying to figure it out on your own through labels that mean nothing.

Penelope Hamilton 35:07

Yeah, when we’re done talking I have about three people I have to write down with that question. How do I start? What do I do? How do I know what to buy?  Thank you. You know, we’re the opposite. All of our hemp products now has to be… if it’s sold in the store… it has to be from a New York Pharma. It’s got a QR code to the COA. We have stricter regulations right now on our hemp products than we do our medical marijuana. That’s crazy…they call it medical cannabis but…

Honey Smith Walls 35:36

Crazy that it’s not at least equal, you know, medical and rec.

Penelope Hamilton 35:40

They’re hopefully going to adjust but yeah, you need to come to New York. Farmers are crushing it… they have to. Now there’s nobody out there probably policing it but you have to actually register with the state now if you want to sell any hemp products like CBD. Anything containing a cannabinoid. So the gas stations would have to register and then it has to be approved… the product.

Honey Smith Walls 36:07

So it’s really a much more… oh my god, it’s a way different situation up there.

Penelope Hamilton 36:13

Yeah, but I’m sure every smoke shop still has the stuff in the corner. You know, it’s just because you have a lot. It doesn’t mean much until it’s enforced.

Honey Smith Walls 36:22

Yeah. I think Washington DC finally…. I’m wanting to say… they rectified their ridiculous situation. You know, they finally voted it in. So okay. Now cannabis is legal in Washington DC but for a long time, you couldn’t buy it! Yeah, you couldn’t sell it! Right. And so you had to give it away as a gift with a T shirt or a tchotchke of some sort which was very weird.

Penelope Hamilton 36:55

Oh my goodness. Yeah, our adult use in New York right now… we have one dispensary down in Manhattan in New York City. That’s it. Really? Yeah, that’s it. That’s it.

Honey Smith Walls 37:09

How do you get weed?

Penelope Hamilton 37:11

You don’t. You’re not legally allowed…  that’s the problem. We’re still working on the licensing… So they will let you know… when they go over to adult use. They allow those medical dispensaries that are in place to begin selling adult use. Well, that makes sense. New York State sad No, absolutely not. You have to wait your turn about three years. And we’re going to try to license all of the minorities and our social equity applicants to be able to sell first. But that sounds wonderful on paper, but it’s not easy to make happen.

Honey Smith Walls 37:54

Yeah. Yeah. And it puts the patient behind the business again.

Penelope Hamilton 38:01

Oh, yeah. So only one dispensary. That’s awful… Except for those people that live in Manhattan.

Honey Smith Walls 38:11

All the more reason to find a trusted person to look up to who can help guide you through this ridiculous maze of politics and cannabis.

Down here. We can’t get full spectrum whole plant products in in the dispensary that’s an acidic version. So I use Healer products. Dr. Dustin Sulak’s leading science. Yeah. And so you can get the acidic version through his company, but it’s so frustrating not to be able to find consistent products.

Penelope Hamilton 38:54

Oh, absolutely…

Honey Smith Walls 38:56

I just wrote

Penelope Hamilton 38:58

I just wrote that down because I am… Does he have THCA?

Honey Smith Walls 39:05

He does but you have to be in Maine to get it. Oh, right. Okay. And I don’t know if it’s reciprocal up there. Maybe it is with you and Maine, New York and Maine. Maybe it is you know. Florida is not reciprocal yet for medical patients. And this is again the part of the ridiculousness and insanity of not legalizing this plant that was made illegal because of old white guys in control.

Penelope Hamilton 39:33

No, I know. Once I learned the roots of it…  I had to get involved in fighting. I might be arrested and still its something that got me moving and walking right.

Honey Smith Walls 39:46

Still people in jail for a plant that heals… Yes, billions of people… wrong. So when the Goddesses arise, I like to say, and we are… we’re leading this charge Penelope… and we appreciate you so much for all of your efforts into this. It’s so frustrating to try to deal in this crazy insane chaos of the world we live in and try to help people.

Penelope Hamilton 40:21

It is… but we will succeed. We’re going to. Yeah, we’re doing it every day… beautiful people like you and I. I just appreciate you so much.

Honey Smith Walls 40:29

Well, this has been so fun to chat with you. I love getting into the geeky politics of it. I’m sorry audience… Forgive me if we bored you…. Ohhhhh… You love it too. You know you love it too.

And we try to stay up on that so that we can accuse the right people and shine a light on corruption and get rid of it. Let it be done out of our system of humanity please… and let the women help. You know… who nurture. We are the nurturers. Yeah, we are the healers.

So you look for us and we’ll help you and give you a hand up in this world and continue our missions… all of us Women in Weed… and I say that affectionately. Yeah. Because it’s the plant that’s healing everything. It has the ability to just make such a huge difference in all of our lives.

Penny is there I’m sorry, Penelope is there anything else? I almost… did I tell you this yet? I almost was a Penelope.  My mother wanted to name me Penelope and my father wanted to name me Melinda… and my two year old sister named me Honey.

Penelope Hamilton 41:45

Oh yes, I am Penelope.

Honey Smith Walls 41:51

I love it. It’s great. It’s so musical and is such a wonderful name. So thank you for spending time with us. Is there anything else that you’d like to tell us about that’s happening or how we can get in touch with you?

Penelope Hamilton 42:05

Oh, You can just visit the website if you’d like… because I’m working hard to get new recipes out and there’s ones explaining how to use your hemp products.

In fact, there’s some wonderful salads on there that I did because I want you to understand this whole plant is wonderful people…  You know that we all hear about THC and CBD but don’t forget your wonderful omegas that you get from hemp seed oil and the protein from hemp and I love this so much. Learn something every day about this plant. So if I can help you get there and look… and if you need to write me… you can get a hold of me at Penelope@thecannabiscommunity.org  Just use my name first.

Honey Smith Walls 43:00

Wonderful. Penelope. Have you heard of Russ Hudson’s book? The Big Book of Terps?  It’s a four and a half pound reference book on terpenes. The first of its kind that I’m aware of. And it’s not cheap. It’s a reference book, a science reference book. It’s about 160 bucks, but I bought it and read it page to page. I mean, front to back. It is one of the most brilliant books I’ve ever seen in this in this arena. It changed the way I cook because I learned the compounds that are in the seasonings and the foods that we use. I’m so glad that you brought that point up about salads and using the raw plant and all of the compounds in the raw plant that are so medicinal for us.

Penelope Hamilton 43:55

And terpenes are everywhere in nature.

Honey Smith Walls 43:57

Terpenes are everywhere in nature! Everywhere.

Penelope Hamilton 44:10

Yeah, a lot of the same shared terpenes…there’s of course, unique ones, but Oh, yes, definitely.

Honey Smith Walls 44:17

Yeah. I mentioned Dr. Ethan Russo. He’s the one who taught me about beta caryophyllene in peppercorns and is what tames THC. And it’s just so fun to know that you can tame your THC… and I bet a lot of people… well most people don’t know that.

Penelope Hamilton 44:42

Little things. Yes.

Honey Smith Walls 44:43

And for elders down here in Florida, the biggest fear is falling… and so that’s what prevents them from even trying cannabis. They don’t know what kind of cannabis to try and they’re afraid all of it might make them woozy and fall. And so that’s our biggest fear and hurdle for elders down here. Helping them understand about cannabis. One just asked me the other day… “Do I have to have a medical license card thingy to go into a hemp store?”  No, honey… Ya don’t. So there’s a lot to help them understand and your videos make it so much easier!

Penelope Hamilton 45:29

Yeah, I wish I could get it all out sooner. Yeah so many things I want done and written because of the questions I get constantly… but I’m only one person.

Honey Smith Walls 45:42

Oh I feel that too. I’m only one girl.

Penelope Hamilton 45:44

I am on Facebook. It’s Penelope,HWC because I’m a certified health and wellness practitioner as well. So a lot of my nutritional information was from going toclasses for that. So yeah, follow me there because I like to help people get the edge on things.

Honey Smith Walls 46:07

Yes, yes. Well, thank you so much for your time today, Penelope. It’s just been so much fun chatting with you. Will you come back when you’ve got new things to tell us about please?

Penelope Hamilton 46:18

Oh, I’d love to and I will definitely make sure our community learns about you and your love.

Honey Smith Walls 46:24

Thank you. Oh, thanks. Thanks so much. All right. Well, we’re sending hugs and kisses from Florida up to yall.

Penelope Hamilton 46:30

Thank you and we love that.

Honey Smith Walls 46:34

All right, dear… Well have fun in that snow and we’ll see you again soon.

Penelope Hamilton 46:38

Thank you. Bye bye.

Honey Smith Walls 46:41

Bye bye

FINI:

You’ve been listening to another Cannaba Verum podcast with 21st century cannabis shaman Honey Smith Walls about the importance of using verifiably safe products. The process of getting a diagnosis from your family doctor and taking your records to a cannabis specialist can lead you to the correct cannabinoid therapy for those issues. Otherwise, you’re just your own guinea pig looking for answers without any foundational knowledge or ability to determine the best choices or strategies.

To find a qualified cannabis expert in your area… visit www.cannabisclinicians.org.

It is a national society of cannabis experts and you’ll see that link down in my show notes.

Unless otherwise proven by a reputable third party lab test, please be advised that all street weed is contaminated. It may do grave harm to a patient with a delicate immune system who already has inflammatory issues like arthritis, IBS, fibromyalgia or worse.

Subscribe to the Cannaba Verum podcast and become part of a project to understand the effects of cannabis on the public. Your anecdotal testimony is priceless to me. Medical citations are posted on my podcast blog when you visit CannabaVerum.com. That’s CannabaVerum.com. Hey, and one last thing… Would you take an extra second to give my podcast a Like and Review? It’s like Bitcoin crack for the algorithms. Thanks so much. Hey, I hear the cows calling.

MOOOOOOO!!

Cannaba Verum is Latin for Cannabis Truth. Sourcing factual information about cannabis hasn’t always been easy for a variety of reasons. However now because of modern innovations, it is. My sources are from leaders in cannabis science like:

Roger Adams, U.S. Organic Chemist who isolated the structure of CBD,

Raphael Mechoulam, Israeli Organic Chemist who isolated the structure of THC,

Ethan Russo, Dir R&D International Cannabis and Cannabinoids Institute

Dustin Sulak, DO – my favorite doctor at healer.com, teaching the art of Cannabis Healing to the world, and other industry greats like:

Rev. Dr. Kymron DeCesare, Ed Rosenthal, Jack Herer, Michael Backes, and Michael Pollen and so many more… plus I use classical sites like: PubMed.gov, JAMAnetwork.com, ResearchGate.com. I listen to several daily podcasts to keep up with the latest cannabis news across the nation and throughout the world like: Dr. Codi Peterson et al on The Cannigma Podcast,  MJTodayDaily.com and MarijuanaMoment.net.  I trust the CBDProject.org and CannabisScienceTech.com. I watch the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA) at: thecannabisindustry.org and many more like: NCIA’s Cannabis Industry VOICE (CannabisRadio.com)

Over past episodes of Cannaba Verum, we’ve listened to some amazing scientists and medical professionals talk about their discoveries and patient successes as hundreds of questionable compounds rise to the public grasp. I am especially interested in the pharmacists movement becoming an integral part of this new medicinal choice.

Watch this machine roll into action through conversations with pharmacy doctors all over the nation like Dr. Leah Johnson and Dr. Codi Peterson out West and Dr. Alan Ao up North. There are so many more getting involved now… these are just a few who have come on my show to explain the situation and it’s fascinating.

You’ll find citations available on my podcast blog at cannabaverum.com

PS: Helping society get past the fear of using cannabis will be a lifelong journey for me. This industry is just opening up and most patients and doctors are seriously cannabis naive and need help understanding where to turn for trustworthy information.

If you need help opening that cannabis discussion with your family doctor,  please reach out and grab the Dear Doctor Letter I wrote for this exact purpose. It will explain your decision to try cannabis and ask for their help in monitoring your labs and progress. It will also show them where they can find medical research on the subject of your diagnosis and the effects of cannabis.

You’ll find that letter at cannabaverum.com
