CV 142 Consider This

January 10, 2022

Welcome to the Cannaba Verum podcast, the cannabis truth podcast. I speak the language of cannabis freely and uncensored, while educating my audience on the safe use of this live Plant Therapy.

You should know what’s in your cannabis. what’s good and what’s not. It does not come with an FDA stamp of approval… yet. Using cannabis mindfully as medication is a different concept than Western healthcare philosophy, specifically of the past 100 years. There’s a lot to learn and reconsider.

The information you’ll find here comes straight from the scientist and clinicians doing the work and reporting their findings in real time through various online outlets. The scientific truth of cannabis is finally getting out and is wide open for all to see at respected medical sites like pubmed.gov  and JAMA, the Journal of American Medical Association…

And I’m right there in the thick of it with all those titans of medicine… as a fly on the wall… because I’m not a doctor. I didn’t go to med school. I took dozens of private cannabis courses offered by cannabis scientists online over the past few years and slowly began to understand the bigger picture. But I’m not a medical doctor or scientist. Oh I can talk to one about cannabis and hopefully inspire more doctors and patients alike, to research the facts as we know them today, and decide alternative health paths for themselves.

This is Honey Smith Walls, a 21st century cannabis shaman, not a doctor, not a scientist. Just here to explain this great big story and the language of cannabis in its historical, political and scientific terms. So you can make educated decisions about the medicine you choose to ingest.

Hello My Friends,

I love what I’m learning. I couldn’t always say that… especially in high school and the limited college courses I took. They bored me to death and I hated reading. I didn’t realize till I was an old woman why. It’s physically difficult on my eyes… so I just stopped reading! That’s AWFUL for a human!  We just HAVE to educate ourselves in order to survive this planet as best we can and help those who struggle worse than we do!

If you don’t know by now… surviving this planet IS our reason of life. To move the human story forward. To see how far we can go. What new adventures to try.

Which new planets to seed with our Earthly DNA.

I know you’ve heard me talk about this before but I feel like it’s so important to our survival to understand the facts of our planet and existence, that I just have to try to connect the dots for other people like me who missed so much from lack of reading.

I found a new way to get that input I so desperately needed… by LISTENING to a good book. When I discovered science audibles… and then quality science podcasts, my entire life changed. Say what you will about living through this pandemic… audible books during this time has completely changed my world. Understanding is so important and if you’re clueless, you’ll lack imagination to connect the dots.  Expanding your universal ideas is key to enjoying and managing a life well lived and all the problems that will ensue.

But cannabis is not new.  Like Dr. Codi Peterson said in a previous episode, (# 139), it has been part of the planetary story all along.  We now know that even a sea squirt at the bottom of the ocean that has never seen the light of day has something like us… an EndoCannabinoid system of receptors that regulates bodily functions. That is an important factoid because it tells us how long cannabis has been here…. Long before humans paired off from that original one-cell life form.  And then he told us about Science figuring out how to feed some sugar to yeast and program it to poop out cannabinoids the same way it does alcohol!

Now they’re talking about “DNA Gardening”… suckin on cannabis seeds before planting so they grow specific cannabinoids to the needs of that particular human! This is innovation in plant therapy. Artisanal farming…. But consider how that seed understands the communication of the saliva and dna soakin it… the messaging system to the seed from the human… and vice versa.

There are soooo many avenues of interest around this plant… other than medicinal. Consider the legalities across the world for cannabis… the real estate it takes to grow… the knowledge of which town government will now allow licensure of cannabis businesses… how compliance will be handled and whose knowledgeable enough to understand and enforce it… what software systems can keep up with cannabis from the farm to the manufacturing plants… what machinery has been developed for cultivating… what employees to train on that equipment… business insurance… tracking software… lab testing for quality and safety… accurate product labeling…

Yet for all of the need… the medicinal side is hardly noticed by the Adult-Use bunch. Or so it seems to this old woman.

I listen in to their conversations like a fly on the wall of some of those platforms like Clubhouse and other podcasts and can tell you… they just don’t seem to givashit about the medicinal side. Understandable with their youth but alarming none the less.

They’re all very young, seemingly without serious nagging physical issues, and they’re just lookin for that fun high. They don’t see life coming straight at them that’s gonna slap them upside the head with disease and infirmity… either in their elder loved ones or themselves. It would be so great if we could get them to understand it’s grander value and vision rather than that of using it as an intoxicant. I don’t like that word with cannabis. That intoxication is actually more of a euphoria for lots of people. That’s why they’re chasing it. It feels good to them and they want it again. That’s not the same thing as a heroin addict.  Euphoria is a feeling of well-being. Not a false superimposed adrenaline rush. Cannabis is actually communicating with the bugs in your body and making them play nicely with each other.

Again, I’m not against harmless euphoria. I think what people are really trying to do with alcohol is relax and get rid of the stress and tension of the day. That’s therapy with alcohol. But too much and you’re shitfaced and not at all going to recover pleasantly. And of course, the more you drink the more you want because it’s addicting.

But intoxicate has a serious meaning. Intoxicate: To lose control of one’s faculties or behavior. Cannabis never has to intoxicate if you know how to use it medicinally.

Now yall know I’m not against getting high…. I’m an old hippie and started out using cannabis improperly at 14, smoking my brains out and having some mildly hallucinogenic episodes for my efforts. There was this space/time distortion that felt like everything was going in slow motion. And funny things weren’t just funny… they were hysterical!  Foods tasted sooooo amazing and rich. And everyone was happy. So for a depressed and lonely kid, being happy was wonderful. I LOVED weed. And still do!

However, now that I’m an older woman with typical infirmities of my age and 30+ years of western medicine experience, I’m real ready to try something new and ditch the side effects I’ve lived with for too long.

Oh yeah… I remember how good cannabis used to make me feel as a kid… what’s that? Scientists are actually saying it’s good for you now? It’s MEDICINE??? Let me try it!  But wait… what’s the hold up? Why so many issues?

Why are cannabis doctors so hard to find? Why doesn’t insurance cover it? Why can’t some states get it? Why won’t the federal government deschedule it? It doesn’t kill  thousands of people every year like tobacco does yet that’s perfectly legal to sell to the public. Why is it forbidden to study in universities? Canada and Mexico are legalizing across their countries. If science has already proven that it works and the government agrees through it’s patent description on cannabinoids, then what’s the big hold up???

Ya know there’s every kind of business skill and level needed in this new industry. There will be cannabis drinks, edibles, taxation, compliance, legalities, legislative nonsense to repair, prisoners to release for smokin a plant… are you aware there are prisoner’s in jail for using cannabis who now have their medical marijuana cards… in prison! What does that tell you about our absurdly screwed up ideas! Let those poor victims of racial abuse and control out of prison and expunge their records.  They just finally let a 90 year old out of prison for smoking pot. I can’t remember how many years he was there… I was just too furious that he was!

Before we close, don’t forget to visit the other podcasts I have listed in the show notes and also on the blog at my website. Curious About Cannabis and the Cannigma podcasts are both excellent and so is Cannabis Helps Dementia. There are lots of greatly informative science podcasts about cannabis now… makes for wonderful walking with the pups.  Yall know I have five little monsters I can’t live without. They are responsible for my sanity and happiness during pandemic.

I’m reminding everyone that we’re on a new schedule beginning this month of 2022.

The podcast will only come out once a week now so that I can venture out and see all the new ways that entrepreneurs are bringing cannabis into our world.

I plan to visit some farms and chat with growers who can tell us what their struggles are in the industry and their successes as well.  Live plant therapy is different than pressed synthetic pill therapy of Western Medicine. There’s more to consider and it helps to understand how to frame the whole process when you start at the beginning.

I know you’ve been hearing about corporate farming for 50 years or so but believe me when I tell you, farming live medicine is unlike any kind of Western process we’re accustomed to and they’re starting all over from the ground up. It’s messy, chaotic, soul-sucking, and heart breaking.

And then you have a survivor of some hated disease thank you for saving their life and it’s all worth the while. I’ve already got several of those farmers lined up for a chat. You’re gonna be surprised at what they tell you. I just feel like knowing how the plant grows will help you choose better products for yourself.

My new friend, Saara Ullery, who was just on the previous two episodes (CV #140 & 141) and another couple of friends in the industry who prefer to remain anonymous audience members will be joining us in a new effort to amplify the science and spread the word on that new platform called Clubhouse I mentioned earlier. Listen for news of our upcoming room real soon. We’re working on which day, what time, the frequency, length, and subject matter but it will be live every week, to discuss the things we find important for you to understand. You’ll be able to listen in as an audience member and raise your hand to ask questions of the panel on stage. It’s a new live way to communicate. With my recorded podcast, you listen at YOUR convenience. With Clubhouse, it’s a live scheduled conference without video… it’s just voice. But it’s live.

My podcast audience already spans the globe from Russia to Belgium, South Africa to Pakistan, from the Netherlands to Romania… my listeners are mostly over 60 and male at 49%. That last surprised me;) I feel compelled to find the right information to give you the whole picture.  Cannabis is not just medicine… it’s so much more. They already made an airplane with cannabis… years ago!!  Google it!

Bling

I just have to tell you, I was listening to a cannabis podcast this morning while walking my five little monsters when I nearly choked on my own spit!

On Cannabis Talk 101 – Episode 414 (which you do NOT wanna miss!), I heard two hosts start talking about the pleasures of Christmas when suddenly I found myself in the middle of a wet dream in broad daylight out in the open air of my neighborhood when the conversation went to the South Pole and the jaunty facilitator of all that pleasure… turned out to be a Trojan condom!

Now all this online business stuff is new to me and I’m learning as fast as I can but I’m not sure I’ll ever get past my own upbringin when it comes to talkin about sex and private matters out loud. I’m so programmed to believe the bullshit I was fed growin up.

Yet after the shenanigans of the past 5 years and the current attitude of the Supreme Court of the United States towards women and people of color, I can’t be shy about sex anymore. Not if we’re going to be able to save women’s rights.

So here’s my Trojan Condom Commercial…

Hello Girls and Boys, I want to talk to you about your lives. What my own parents never told me… Nothing is going to be fair or balanced if you’re a woman or person of color. As we speak, the Supreme Court is allowing the rights of decision over your own body to be stripped by those who will see themselves corruptly in control… of YOU.  Women of Texas? Listen a little bit closer…you’re gonna need this sooner than most.

See kids, they already took your rights away. So before you find yourself in need of safe access to abortion and without hope in TX, slip on this Trojan warrior for protection from an old white man’s grip on your uterus.

Trojan is famous for their innovation.  You know what the ancients used to use? Tortoise  shell (think carved phalic symbol), animal intestines, and linens. But it was the tire magnate, Charles Goodyear who discovered vulcanized rubber in 1839 that brought mass production of birth control to couples worldwide.

Trojan technology now includes a spray that prolongs your pleasure! The guys at Cannabis Talk 101 on episode 414 are gonna tell you all about how it feels, how it glides, how its trusted and never fails, and how much safe fun they have with some of the new products at Adele concerts!!!

So whether you’re an old white guy with your hands firmly entrenched where they shouldn’t be… or just some young asshole takin after him…take note all you red nationalists, I don’t know how fast you can destroy a democracy, but I have witnessed the resiliency of humanity.

I don’t know that your kind of evil has already won… some days it sure feels like it… but I’ll be part of the resistance till the day I die. And I’ll keep talking to our youthful bangers about making their own decisions without the grip of an old white man’s hand.

Good luck boys and girls. Don’t forget to use a Trojan for protection… from old white guys in power. And don’t forget that cannabis can enhance sexual pleasure.

This has been another Cannaba Verum PSA.

MOOOOOOO!!

You’ve been listening to another Cannaba Verum podcast with 21st century cannabis shaman Honey Smith Walls, about the importance of using safe hemp and marijuana products. The process of taking your records with your symptoms and diagnosis to a cannabis specialist can lead you to the correct cannabinoid therapy for your best results.

Otherwise, you’re just your own guinea pig looking for answers without any foundational knowledge or ability to determine the best choices…

Unless otherwise proven by a reputable third party lab test, please be advised that all street weed is contaminated. It may do grave harm to a patient with a delicate immune system.

I challenge you to check the veracity of my statements in each episode by checking the medical citations posted on my blog on the CannabaVerum.com website.

Cannaba Verum is Latin for Cannabis Truth. Sourcing factual information about cannabis hasn’t always been easy for a variety of reasons. However now because of modern innovations, it is. My sources are from leaders in cannabis science like:

Roger Adams, U.S. Organic Chemist who isolated the structure of CBD,

Raphael Mechoulam, Israeli Organic Chemist who isolated the structure of THC,

Ethan Russo, Dir R&D International Cannabis and Cannabinoids Institute

PS: Helping society get past the fear of using cannabis will be a lifelong journey for me. This industry is just opening up and both patients and doctors are completely cannabis naive and need help understanding where to turn for trustworthy information. If you need help opening that cannabis discussion with your family doctor,  please reach out and grab the Dear Doctor Letter I wrote for this exact purpose. It will explain your decision to try cannabis and ask for their help in monitoring your labs and progress. It will also show them where they can find medical research on the subject of your diagnosis and the effects of cannabis. You’ll find that letter at cannabaverum.com

I hope you had sufficient wherewithal to get you past the NEW YEAR’s chaos and celebration. Thank you for joining Saara Ullery and me for a continuing discussion about changing the way we give aid to ourselves. It’s a new philosophy… And I, for one, have discovered that our present medical therapies are too restricted to synthetics so I want to explore other avenues… including NEW philosophies.
