Welcome to the Cannaba Verum podcast, the cannabis truth podcast. I speak the language of cannabis freely and uncensored, while educating my audience on the safe use of this live Plant Therapy. You should know what’s in your cannabis, what’s good and what’s not. It does not come with an FDA stamp of approval yet, using cannabis mindfully, as medication is a different concept in the healthcare philosophy of the past 100 years. There’s a lot to learn and consider cannabis is not dangerous, but it is not harmless, either. This is honey Smith walls, a 21st century cannabis shaman here to explain the language of cannabis in historical, political, and scientific terms, so you can make educated decisions about the medicine you ingest.
Hello my friends,
I’d like to tell you how I’m building this business because I see so many applications in other arenas and it’s exciting work because it puts you right in the heart of it all.
I know so many amazing people who could create an ebook and do the same thing with their own special skills and experience.
My buddy Jay who is a physical therapist in the real world but loves the stories of brewing whiskey soooo much that he’s now a connoisseur of the drink and can tell the greatest yarns about the brew, converting a Baptist to the scot’s water.
My new friend, the psychologist and captain of her own sailing vessel cruising the east coast alone. She just came through hurricane forces in ocean waters and that story aLONE would keep a listener enthralled. But she’s a psychologist too! Deconstructing all those emotions and fear and skills and resignation and determination… OhMyyyyyy… And getting back into the saddle again after suffering a major battle with the elements.
And then there was the darling shop keep who now understands the meaning of medicinal cannabis when it became her saving grace for the stress and ADD she suffered all her young life and then as a mother.
The world and our own society is changing the way we learn and buy and sell and perform services. And the way we think of jobs and careers and making a living wage for ourselves.
I’m building a foundation for a “passive income” down the line. Like a machine that will run on automatic. But don’t be confused by the term… there’s a lot of work in building the business that just takes time. Like building an audience who trusts you.
To do this, I had to have something to talk about and sell. Well yall know all I wanna talk about is cannabis… so I just wrote a book about it called, “The Language of Cannabis” which is currently at the editors but coming out soon. I wrote that book in about 10 days. I made an outline of the most important things to understand and expounded. But further, I backed up what I said with scientific citations! It’s not MY advice but theirs! That is where I begin building trust with patients who come to listen.
I had to have a way to promote my book so I began podcasting. I didn’t realize how much I would love it. I do it from the comfort of my home on my iPhone and iPad through the free podcasting platform called Anchor. I bought a cheap $30. Headset from BestBuy and that is the extent of my new equipment cost. Already had the other iEquipment.
I produce 2 podcasts per week because that’s what felt right to me. Some other podcasters do daily, weekly, or even monthly episodes. But there’s a lot to explain about cannabis…. and so few people who already understand…. that I felt compelled to create two episodes per week and it’s still comfortable for me after almost a year.
One of my secrets to keeping up with 2 shows a week is to “batch” produce several shows at a time. And to limit the number of guest interviews I’m doing right now because there is a lot of extra work for that, which includes special promo’s and timing and all kinds of considerations. So I’m choosing not to put that stress on myself just yet. That part will be a lot more fun after I get a little further along.
Break
The next part is building my audience. This is no fast track for me. I’m building relationships based on my knowledge and their trust.
Most of that trust should come because I’m telling patients what the scientists say and not what some young budtender described as a great ride on the Bubba Kush strain.
In fact, I don’t mention the variety names that are given to cannabis because they don’t mean anything and won’t be here tomorrow.
Consistency in cannabis is about as random as a firefly. There are a lot of systems that must be set up. All that takes time to understand. The issues of growing live medicine for millions of people are huge. We really have to grow the plant with contamination regulation if we’re going to consume it.
So now I’m having a professional new website created that incorporates e-commerce and can catch your opt-in email addresses. You’ll find my new ebook to purchase and you can also listen to my podcasts on whatever platform you enjoy like Apple or Spotify or whatever…
At this point, I’m on social media about my podcasts and talking about my new ebook. But I quickly learned that one can easily be lead down the rabbit hole of social media and before you know it, hours are missing in your day. I don’t have time for that. So I chose FB to start. It was familiar and I didn’t need to learn a new app. I can practice comfortably while I build my audience.
Now that I have my new patient audience checking out my website, I have an affiliate page. That’s where I show you the path in education that I personally took to gain cannabis knowledge and certification. I’ll also show you other facilities that I believe has the highest standards in cannabis education.
As affiliate partners, they give me a special link that is a discount to their courses for the patient who purchases. And they give me a percentage of that purchase. That, is passive income. So the more affiliate partners of quality I list on my site, the more opportunity for passive income.
But I can’t stop there…. now that I have my own show, I’m beginning to bring expert guest interviews who have a story to tell. They’re actually finding ME! Because I’ve been putting myself “out there” in the social media framework for so long. This may not apply to you but I’ve been a public figure (with a small p) for 30 years. I’m a musician and performer and had several other small businesses. So my name has been around google for awhile. That’s to my advantage now. Having the two weekly podcasts has added to that exponentially. So imagine what happens if you start going on other podcasts about YOUR podcast or book or widget??
Lately I’ve been popping into LinkedIn and found a beautiful emergency room doctor who went green, wrote a book, and agreed to interview with me about his cannabis experience. I LOVE this job!!!!
Podcasting is the new radio and becoming so popular. I can promote my industry and my new book on both my own podcast and now I’m getting invitations to OTHER podcast shows! So I get their exposure as well as my own and there’s all the linking back and forth… It begins to tangle a bit… gotta have your systems in place for keeping track of everything and I paid good money for all this know-how. It pays to be organized!!!
It’s definitely the high-tech version of armchair podcasting, but I’m so grateful it is available for me to build a new company that serves so many.
When my new website goes hot, there will be plenty of opportunities to tell you more about this path. But every aspect of business skills are utilized in this industry. Cannabis is going to start coming in products you never dreamed of. Tampons, coffee, and space rocket components.

You’ve been listening to another Cannaba Verum podcast with 21st century cannabis shaman Honey Smith Walls, about the importance of using safe hemp and marijuana products. Unless otherwise proven by a reputable third party lab test, please be advised that all street weed is contaminated. It may do grave harm to a patient with a delicate immune system. I challenge you to check the veracity of my statements in each episode by checking the medical citations posted on my blog at Cannaba Verum.com.
