Welcome to the Cannaba Verum podcast, the cannabis truth podcast. I speak the language of cannabis freely and uncensored. While educating my audience on the safe use of this live Plant Therapy.
You should know what’s in your cannabis. what’s good and what’s not. It does not come with an FDA stamp of approval yet. using cannabis mindfully as medication is a different concept and Western healthcare philosophy, specifically of the past 100 years there’s a lot to learn and reconsider.
The information you’ll find here comes straight from the scientist and clinicians doing the work and reporting their findings in real time through various online outlets. The scientific truth of cannabis is finally getting out and is wide open for all to see at respected medical sites like pubmed.gov and JAMA, the Journal of American Medical Association…
And I’m right there in the thick of it with all those titans of medicine… as a fly on the wall… because I’m not a doctor. I didn’t go to med school. I took dozens of private cannabis courses offered by cannabis scientists online over the past few years and slowly began to understand the bigger picture. But I’m not a medical doctor or scientist. Oh I can talk to one about cannabis and hopefully inspire more doctors and patients alike, to research the facts as we know them today, and decide alternative health paths for themselves.
This is Honey Smith Walls, a 21st century cannabis shaman, not a doctor, not a scientist. Just here to explain this great big story and the language of cannabis in its historical, political and scientific terms. So you can make educated decisions about the medicine you choose to ingest.

Segment 1
Hello my friends…
I watched a conference this morning by the Society of Cannabis Clinicians with two doctors who are both mothers of autistic children. On the panel were Drs. Bonnie Goldstein, Patricia Frye, Dustin Sulak, Sherry Yafai, Minchul An, Musinah Morris, Melani Kane, and Genesis Emery. So this was a panel of medical professionals discussing their working knowledge of cannabis with autistic kids.
When they explained the frustration they had trying to find treatment that was meaningful… I could hear them choke on sobs welling up. This was personal for some of those doctors. They were all professional friends… all empathetic to their personal plights…when their tones turned from professional knowledge to pleading parents.
The disbelief they recounted that nobody would listen to them or help them in a constructive way… that hands would fly up to ears of those in charge and minds would shut down about cannabis therapy. That actual doctors were not respected for their knowledge but instead, their authority was usurped by some zealot who knew nothing.
I was also reminded of Dr. Abraham Benavides who told the story of his peril soon after a betrayal of promises when he was entering the medical profession as a doctor of color. I can’t believe I even have to say that out loud and yet no further…. for you to understand his situation. This society is soooo screwed up in the head about “other”.
I’m horrified and shell-shocked at the way people treat each other. And now the Supreme Court of the United States is politically poised at this very moment in history when cannabis is about to fully re-enter society… SCOTUS is about to take a woman’s right to make decisions for her own body away…again. How is THAT gonna work?
Our doctors cry. They cry over the frustrating limitations uneducated legislators thrust upon them. They cry over the crippling complications of life for their sickly patients and the frustrations of our society that disallow empathetic actions for the suffering in front of us. And they cry for us! We become their “family” of patients under their care. They take that to their heart. They do really care. I hear how they talk about their patients between their peers and it’s an eye opening emotional experience to listen to. Their own hearts suffer trying to find the solutions for our terrible issues. They query their peers and discuss the intricate details urging more ideas from the collective experience.
One clinician told his story of the hospital policy usurping the law and forbidding known successful cannabis therapy for known UN-successful synthetic treatment. He was traumatized for the patient, the parent , and his profession!

Segment 2
This year has brought so many new experiences…. Even stuck in my own little pandemic bubble, I’ve grown and learned and met new meaningful friends like our pharmacist friends out in California and up in New England… good god… do people even use that term anymore? New England? Like I said… been stuck in my own little cannabis bubble for 2 1/2 years! I barely know which companies survived and who didn’t in my own little town. I’ve just lived on my own back porch with the hounds and you all this time.
I’m nervous about the winter strain comin into our somewhat settled pandemic but hopeful that cannabis will be there to help assuage the effects of illness. The fact that my 89 year old spouse is still healthy and movin is the greatest relief from this mess.
But we must all still be careful and “vax up” with boosters and mask up to stop the swap of germs.
We’re close to being able to manage this monster if we can get the public to comply with simple societal requirements of health.
And wouldn’t it be nice if we could keep old white men out of our wombs at the same time. They’re not medical doctors. Why are they deciding this for me? They don’t want me to abort their soldiers of war they won’t take care of before or after the military??? Tell me their idiotic reason again if you can and make any kind of sense out of it. My body is MY BODY! And my LIFE is NOT theirs to destroy. I will NOT be subject to men!
And CERTAINLY NOT to some man’s religious idea of woman! That’s just man’s bullshit on women and I’m not fallin for it anymore. I hope you call it out wherever YOU see it too. That story negatively affects so many people’s lives and has created the worst division and “fear of other” possible.
So thinking outside those religious restrictions of all the people who need help and can’t get it because they’re not the right color or kind of person? Ya know… humans? I just want to say to you if you’re listening…. I’m with you. I care. I’m trying to change attitudes for you. I love you… and I wish for all the love and affection and help you need to arrive on time to comfort you.
Pax Vobiscum.
MOOOOOOO!!
You’ve been listening to another Cannaba Verum podcast with 21st century cannabis shaman Honey Smith Walls, about the importance of using safe hemp and marijuana products. The process of taking your records with your symptoms and diagnosis to a cannabis specialist can lead you to the correct cannabinoid therapy for your best results. Otherwise, you’re just your own guinea pig looking for answers without any foundational knowledge or ability to determine the best choices… Unless otherwise proven by a reputable third party lab test, please be advised that all street weed is contaminated. It may do grave harm to a patient with a delicate immune system. I challenge you to check the veracity of my statements in each episode by checking the medical citations posted on my blog. The Cannaba verum.com website.

Cannaba Verum is Latin for Cannabis Truth. Sourcing factual information about cannabis hasn’t always been easy for a variety of reasons. However now because of modern innovations, it is. My sources are from leaders in cannabis science like:
Roger Adams, U.S. Organic Chemist who isolated the structure of CBD,
Raphael Mechoulam, Israeli Organic Chemist who isolated the structure of THC,
Ethan Russo, Dir R&D International Cannabis and Cannabinoids Institute
Dustin Sulak, DO – my favorite doctor at healer.com, teaching the art of Cannabis Healing to the world, and other industry greats like:
Rev. Dr. Kymron DeCesare, Ed Rosenthal, Jack Herer, Michael Backes, and Michael Pollen and so many more… plus I use classical sites like: PubMed.gov, JAMAnetwork.com, ResearchGate.com. I listen to several daily podcasts to keep up with the latest cannabis news across the nation and throughout the world like: The Great Shea Gunther at MJTodayDaily.com and MarijuanaMoment.net. I trust the CBDProject.org and CannabisScienceTech.com. I watch the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA) at: thecannabisindustry.org and many more.

PS: Helping society get past the fear of using cannabis will be a lifelong journey for me. This industry is just opening up and both patients and doctors are completely cannabis naive and need help understanding where to turn for trustworthy information. If you need help opening that cannabis discussion with your family doctor, please reach out and grab the Dear Doctor Letter I wrote for this exact purpose. It will explain your decision to try cannabis and ask for their help in monitoring your labs and progress. It will also show them where they can find medical research on the subject of your diagnosis and the effects of cannabis. You’ll find that letter at cannabaverum.com

Show Notes:
I wish you could hear the passionate dialog I am often privy to when I join the cannabis conferences to listen to the experts. They are unimaginably smart… and yet… there are complications in human health that stump them and worry them through their sleep and frustrate them within the confines of the law that knows nothing about the chemicals and contraindications that some patients suffer. So when I see the hearts of these great medical titans I bleed with them in their sorrow over their patients. I want you to know that these doctors talk about you with the utmost respect and consideration. I really had no idea how emotionally attached they are to us… even though their education probably warns them against that. You may be surprised as well. Come in for a listen.
