Honey Smith Walls 0:12
Welcome to the Cannaba Verum podcast, the cannabis truth podcast. I speak the language of cannabis freely and uncensored while educating my audience on the safe use of this live Plant Therapy. You should know what’s in your cannabis, what’s good and what’s not. It does not come with an FDA stamp of approval yet, using cannabis mindfully, as medication is a different concept in the healthcare philosophy of the past 100 years. There’s a lot to learn and consider cannabis is not dangerous, but it is not harmless, either. This is Honey Smith Walls, a 21st century cannabis shaman here to explain the language of cannabis in historical, political, and scientific terms, so you can make educated decisions about the medicine you ingest. Hey Aiden. This is honey your new friend on the Cannaba Verum podcast. I was just wondering, since your mom and I had been talking about it, you know, she was bragging about what a great artist, you are. And I’m wondering if you’ve been drawing for your mom’s business. Oh, I can’t wait to find out, do let me know we’ll chat, but I get as many of my books in audio form. That’s so smart, and then I speed it up. Usually you can speed it up by one and a quarter, or one and a half right, and it gets you through that book in no time at all.
Christine Stio 2:08
That’s brilliant. It is because listening and doing is perfect for me that’s
Honey Smith Walls 2:13
funny to me too,
Christine Stio 2:15
the airpod in my ear, and I’ve got one for you and one with the air pad, and I could do it while I’m running things you know I running my home daycare I’m cooking my dinner. I’m driving like a lot of times I’m driving and listening to a podcast,
Honey Smith Walls 2:30
I do the same thing, and I love that. It feels like I’m, you know, inputting in Yeah.
Christine Stio 2:37
And I feel so good because, you know, otherwise our mind goes to a place sometimes of worry and we don’t want it to go there we want it to stay present focused on the positive. And, you know, that helps. That really helps.
Honey Smith Walls 2:52
What are you reading that you love what you told me about all of the LinkedIn so God I don’t even know when you’d have time to write
Christine Stio 3:00
anything, you know, I am going to be reading something that you’re reading, to be honest like anything right now like I’ll take some suggestions. Because what one thing I have right here that I really want to start reading again is Doc by Dr Brian Weiss, he’s got a whole series, his series is what this one particular book is called same soul many bodies into my belief about reincarnation. Oh, Dr. Weiss is an amazing man so if you don’t have never heard about Dr. Weiss, I definitely suggest him and then messages from the Divine by Sara Wiseman, she’s another amazing woman who’s brought me a lot of inspiration and helped me get back on this track of focusing on my correct path The path that’s meant for me, and like, kind of filtering out what isn’t meant for me.
Honey Smith Walls 3:54
I’m mostly gurus about that too. I do spiritual guys, I’m very scared to Oh Brian did you say br II under Brian Weiss got it, and then
Christine Stio 4:06
Wiseman there. Sarah was are the books that are, that I have been reading but I did put like kind of shelved, because I’ve been so inundated with this career change. But like all the, all the things I’m listening to and reading on LinkedIn, I’m learning so much every day. And I’m immersing myself in the community and the industry, sharing what I’m learning with everybody because, you know like I look at, I didn’t. You didn’t know who Zachariah Hildebrand was or mark Eden, or can’t wait, oil or Ryan Soglin or grew my world, so it’s like we’re finding our tribe, and the tribe of the cannabis community on LinkedIn I feel is overall a very positive place to be. I do see some of the calling out that I don’t really feel comfortable with and I you know I understand like that’s the culture we live in now is, you know, call people out, make them feel like shame them. That is shaming them, you should be calling them in or calling on them because I love that saying, Yeah, me too because we call them out, call the man all them and call them in for a conversation as well. But yeah, sometimes you’re not in the right place and not in the right spiritual place or the place of healing to call them in. So she says Loretta says, If you can’t call them in if you’re not in the right frame of mind and you know in your healing spot, you can call on them. So you could just be like you know just look right at them, excuse me or pardon me, you know, and they kind of helps them reframe what they’re saying and makes them realize hey wait i i just said something really offensive, and I need to reframe that because we can disagree with somebody and we can tell them we don’t agree or we don’t think they’re being respectful in a way that doesn’t, you know, call them out.
Honey Smith Walls 6:04
Oh thank you, mighty teacher Christine I think I just had an aha moment. I love it. I do I just had an aha moment because I do, I, When I hear when I hear an offensive, something’s coming at me, my eyebrows for oh, right, and I shoot a glare of darts coming out atcha. What, what did you just
Unknown 6:32
say to brave we shut down and we’ve become defensive and it divides us, and it does not, doesn’t solve anything it doesn’t help it doesn’t bring out a solution,
Honey Smith Walls 6:42
but you just gave me an alternative. You just told me that I don’t have to do that in a look sweetly at them and say,
Christine Stio 6:51
Excuse me, that Pardon me. Excuse me, really comfortable and we feel like we’re in the right place. We’re feeling like we’re in a healed spot, you could call the men and when you listen to this woman, Loretta, you’re gonna just love her and you’re gonna, I am ready for, You know, people like Loretta J Ross, but I’m grateful that Mark Eaton shared this because these types of things sometimes don’t get a lot of attention. Yeah, the community because people are so busy. We’re so rushed, but those are the things that really catch me, And I realized that something like this is so important because it helps you become a better professional, a better human. And if you’re a better human, you can really affect change in your industry,
Honey Smith Walls 7:49
even bother trying to tell him anything, you know, I, I have a I have a lovely buddy who’s my movie buddy. He recently moved away to Tennessee, but he is a 35 ish year old autistic, on the high end of spectrum. And, and he and I are really great buddies he came down. Since he’s moved to Tennessee and stayed with us. a year and a half ago during hurricane season and we had a great time, you know, walking the puppies and wild weather and stuff like that so it’s been, it took me almost 15 years to become a friend of his. I can tell you so his friendship is extremely meaning, I love that. You know, it took him a long time to trust me. Sure, yeah, I get I get that that’s how my Aiden is he doesn’t. He’s right. But he has, he has kissed me and hugged me and told me he loves me. So, that was so, I mean that was, it was huge, huge, huge. So, and then my best friend has an autistic brother who is also mentally handicapped and severely autistic without words, without, without sentences. I can speak words but it’s you know it’s kind of like broken out. Yeah, you ain’t want a hamburger, hamburger, you know, you say the last thing you say, Hey, what a hot dog, hot dog. Yeah. So communication with him is very special and when he makes movement towards you of affection. You know it and you feel honored. So, the feelings that these two precious souls have brought to me in, you know, over the past 20 years have just been a magnificent grace, I think. And, yeah, that you know they’re their family don’t know how much I love their, their, their kids.
Christine Stio 10:12
You hit the nail on the head like that, that the presence of another soul brings you so much joy, and it’s like we are. That’s how, that’s what we are, we’re just souls, and he’s these like suitcases we were to carry around our soul, I don’t mean anything, right that’s why when you, when you meet somebody for the first time, and you really think that through, you know, don’t get sidetracked, or how they look. Oh, look under their cover and really see who are they, and you know I just feel like there’s so
Honey Smith Walls 10:45
I see you. See you Christie. The people like me who wear their soul on their sleeve. Yeah, really, in that truth I’m an open book,
Christine Stio 10:56
same and you know I just I’m not afraid. I’m not afraid, and I have nothing to hide. Exactly,
Honey Smith Walls 11:02
exactly the way I feel i want you to know me I’m not afraid of anything in my life, even my mistakes, exactly
Christine Stio 11:10
how we, that’s how we get better. We all have to make a mistake, we often, you know, fall and fall and fall in order to get up and get better, you know, and there’s a lot there’s. It took me a little while to get over this like especially it was in my 30s Yeah, I had to get over the fact that not everyone’s going to like you, and that
Honey Smith Walls 11:32
happened to me in my late 30s Too when I found that surprise yeah I was like, How come they don’t let that be possible. Humbling package.
Christine Stio 11:50
You know, just learning how to deal with that and realizing it doesn’t matter and just continue to forge on and be yourself, you find your tribe. And, you know I’ve been surrounded by some people in my life that haven’t necessarily been good members to my tribe, they’ve needed my help, and I’ve gotten kind of caught up in helping them, and I have no regrets and that because I feel like we’re meant to help others we’re meant to, like, help people get connected with the help they
Honey Smith Walls 12:25
need. You ever feel like a failure with any of those friends. Oh, trying to help me, oh I have to, yeah I’m so it makes me sick. It might, it brings up bile when I think about it. Yeah, my failures as a friend, you know, you
Christine Stio 12:39
feel like you failed but you know what I know, for, for matter, like in my heart I know that these people will never forget what we tried to help them with and there’s lessons, and that stay with them so it might not come up right away but like something in their mind or in their heart, they’ll remember what we tried or what we said or what we did. Here’s another thing will come up and help them later.
Honey Smith Walls 13:05
You never know who you’re going to fall in love with, and that is with a person, as a life partner or a person as a friend, partner. Yeah, and I gotta tell you, I just recently fell in love with a Republican gay man who is, who has HIV and Parkinson’s. Oh wow. And he is so lost and he has no friends and it hurts my heart so badly. And I want to help him, you know, I just want to help him. It’s taken me almost four years to get him to trust me as a brand, wow, and it’s been slow and I don’t know why I don’t know why I’m so mad at Republicans. But I love this one, you know, well I get I get I don’t have any control. You fall in love
Christine Stio 13:58
with but and that’s like, you know, it’s funny because once you get to know somebody and you and you take down those barriers and a woman that amazing woman Loretta Ross talks about this, once you get to know somebody and call them in and actually have a conversation with them. You can’t be angry at them anymore,
Honey Smith Walls 14:16
call the man there it is again you know, be angry with them. Yes, and I’m not I’m not angry with him I’m angry with you know the big are Republicans, but I’m not angry with him. Right,
Christine Stio 14:29
exactly. So it’s like, you take down those barriers and you realize we’re all human, we’re all the same. Again, we all you know we all like get up every day, you’re from our sleep, you know, we’re born we live,
Honey Smith Walls 14:44
we’re all going to die, seems to be a recurring theme, you know,
Christine Stio 14:48
exactly and it’s like, you know, we’re, we’re all you know if you just look at life and you think, Okay, let me get on the right path. With my tribe, and make the most difference I can on this journey while I’m here, and that’s what I’ve been trying to focus on, I’d say since I was about 4045 I really started thinking to myself, You know what, I have all these amazing feelings and thoughts in my mind and I really want to make the best and the most impact I can, Because you never know, you never know I mazhab and while we’re here, let’s use it for the best for the good of all. And make those positive connections,
Honey Smith Walls 15:27
and like, do you feel like you can now. Yeah, that you’ve gained the wisdom and maturity, right, and you’re not afraid. Yeah, You’re not afraid,
Christine Stio 15:36
not afraid of it, and, you know, finding like minded people like yourself and other people on LinkedIn. It’s such a liberating feeling, you just know the truth, you just feel like you won the lottery everyone getting your marijuana card [1] (1) a liberating feeling oh it was, You feel like oh my god I’m not a criminal anymore.
Christine Stio 15:56
My whole family it was so funny. We were at a big party. Look at, look it’s my it’s my medical marijuana card and they’re like, good for you. There’s my parents already said they want to be drivers for
Honey Smith Walls 16:09
those who still have your parents. Yeah, lucky you.
Christine Stio 16:14
Oh, they want to work… they said they’re like Well, give us a job, we’ll work for you, we’ll deliver.
Honey Smith Walls 16:20
Honey, you couldn’t trust anybody more could you exactly they have my back 110% What’s your vision now I know you’ve got to wait for the you know the red tape, but what’s the projection for that. Do you, do you have any I mean is it gonna, you know, a few months, six months, maybe not that long gonna probably be,
Christine Stio 16:41
so the regulations once they actually start writing them won’t be done probably another year to 18 months me oh
Honey Smith Walls 16:48
my gosh,
Christine Stio 16:50
so I’ve got to just stay afloat, I have my, my home daycare open still it’s on a very small basis I take a small group, so I’m just trying to kind of keep, you know, multiple hats on. Yeah, you know, pay the bills,
Honey Smith Walls 17:05
but I’m perfect time to outline that little book that you could sell as a premium to what’s common
Christine Stio 17:13
yeah so for social equity applicants like myself, who need the leg, you know, the heads up, right, because you know so many social equity programs in different states have failed, Because what they said they were going to do, they didn’t do. And, oh another amazing man who owns his own cult. He’s a cultivator. He owns bought with called Wait a kid, my brain is slipping see this is where I need ginkgo biloba this time.
Christine Stio 17:48
I need it. And Christopher ball, he’s another amazing connection on LinkedIn he owns ball family farms in California. He is huge into the social equity aspect. And he you know he brings it up a lot how they don’t set you up for success, they say oh yes here’s the social equity program we want a certain percentage of license rights to be held by social equity applicants and but then when it comes to actually doing it, they don’t have the funding or the programs they need incubator programs they need grants, they need startup money for the for us. So it’s like they, they say these things but then they don’t follow through. So, but yeah, look up Christopher Ball. Well, family farms. I’m telling you I listened to him. Speak on, let’s say Brandon Robinson’s podcast. Brandon Robinson’s another amazing man out of New Jersey. Wow. And I, this Christopher ball just blew me away because he’s so he’s from legacy, and he started for his own business from high school, and then continued it like he continued on through college and just his story is so, so inspirational. I can’t
Honey Smith Walls 19:06
wait to hear, do you spell his last name with a B as in boy lol Yeah, yep, be a owl. Okay, great. Well, I’m going to put all of these links in the description of the show so that you know our audience will be able to find them. And, you know, and start their own little journey of truth. I love with these. This variety of great sources that we’ve been talking about
Christine Stio 19:34
journey of truth. Amen. Honey, you know, it’s all about young people are afraid of the truth, they’re afraid to speak their mind because they feel I’m too young or I’m inexperienced, but the more honest and the more truth and, you know when you operate from a place in your heart. You just embrace that that’s so important.
Honey Smith Walls 19:57
I want our, our audience to be able to contact you about. Thanks for joining us today.
