Hello my friends,
If you’ve not heard of a square grouper or hedge witch, this is your lucky day. But unlike all my other shows, you won’t know my guest’s name… because she prefers to remain anonymous. I won’t even discuss her reasons for staying anonymous… just know that she is brand new to cannabis and called me for a little help. So naturally I wanted yall to meet her and hear about her first time experiences… in Cannabis 2023. Please welcome my first mystery guest…
right after the intro…

Welcome to season four of the Cannabis Truth Podcast.
I speak the language of cannabis freely and uncensored while educating my audience on safe use of this live plant therapy. You should know what’s in your cannabis…what’s good and what’s not.
It does not come with an FDA stamp of approval yet. Using cannabis mindfully as medication is a different concept in Western healthcare philosophy, specifically of the past 100 years. There’s a lot to learn and reconsider.
The information you’ll find here comes straight from scientists and clinicians doing the work and reporting their findings in real time through various live online outlets.
The scientific truth of cannabis is finally getting out and is wide open for all to see at respected medical sites like pubmed.gov and JAMA, the Journal of American Medical Association… and I’m right there in the thick of it with all those titans of medicine… as a fly on the wall.
Because I’m not a doctor, nor did I go to med school. But I did take dozens of private cannabis courses and still engage in continuing education offered by cannabis expert scientists. I love amplifying their work and talking to people all day long about this plant therapy.
Cannabis is an amazing alternative in health remedies that can alleviate typical disease problems and troubling side effects, even those caused by synthetic prescriptions.
This is Honey Smith Walls, a 21st century cannabis shaman, not a doctor, not a scientist, raised by nuns and wolves in the verdant cattle pastures of the Oklahoma oil fields. I’m here to amplify the truth of this great big story of cannabis in historical, political, scientific and spiritual terms, so you can make educated decisions about the medicine you choose to ingest.

Hey, it sounds like I have a friend of cannabis.
Mystery Guest 3:05
Hi, I think I think you do.
Honey Smith Walls 3:09
How are you My sweet? It’s so nice to have you here with us. Thank you for sharing not only your time right now but also your experiences in coming into cannabis in the state of Florida. We really appreciate understanding how all that evolved for you and and it helps normalize the plant for a lot of other people and your story is so wonderful.
Mystery Guest 3:37
Thank you so much. You’re such a sweetie. Yeah. I appreciate you asking me to share. Oh goodness, how all which began… which part of it?
Honey Smith Walls 3:51
Well you and I met a couple of years ago. And we shared a little intimate moment of happy and Glee connecting with each other somehow… whatever magic that was. Yeah. You know, it was just a chance meeting… of course there’s no chance… but it was just, you know, we met at an event and then we exchanged skills and talent.
Mystery Guest 4:27
Yeah, and then only for the world to take such a 180 in my own life. And then at the other end of that 180… There you are, again, kind of a surprise.
Honey Smith Walls 4:38
Uhhuh… Just never know how people are going to connect or reconnect or whatever. But that happened with us.
Mystery Guest 4:50
You came back into my life and right then.
Honey Smith Walls 4:56
Well, you know, nature. Yeah.
Mystery Guest 4:59
So the beginning of the whole thing sounds like a first chapter in a Stephen King novel. It started… I guess… I grew up with just a broken family. So because I had a broken family. I didn’t know how to deal with life. So then when I was a teenager and life started to show up… I only did what everybody else was doing. And I didn’t like it. It didn’t do good things for me and my life but it was so connected to illegal criminal world. So I didn’t have any any choice but to deal with dishonest people or questionable people. And it just put me in a place in my life that I couldn’t function well and I was miserable.
So I decided in April of 2002 that I wasn’t going to smoke anything or take anything…
I wasn’t an addict in like heroin and crack. I just smoked pot all the time. And then recreationally…Oh, well, I did mushrooms, LSD and towards the end I started getting into ecstasy but I enjoyed the ecstasy because of what it did. With the music.
Honey Smith Walls 6:36
Oh, I’ve never had yet.
Mystery Guest 6:39
Oh yeah. It just stripped down all of those connections and worries about the outside world and I could connect with music. So but when I decided I didn’t like my life, I didn’t like how I was living. I didn’t like the people… I said, you know… that’s part of it, and I just quit everything.
So almost 21 years ago… I quit everything and I’ve spent the last 20 years focused on mental and spiritual recovery. And it’s changed everything.
So I’ve gathered tools about self acceptance and tools about how to be concerned with other people’s feelings…. and all these counseling things and it’s been 20 years, and I feel pretty good as a person.
Except I get a diagnoses that came after I stopped smoking marijuana. Oh, yeah. Turns out that I was bipolar. And I later found out that I’m another condition called OCPD. And then last year, found out that I have ADHD and I didn’t know these things earlier in my life. I was just smoking all the time and enjoying my hallucinogenics. But now I’m not anymore. And so now I have these mental conditions that I am eventually prescribed pills to take so that I can follow…
Honey Smith Walls 8:23
Ohhhh…I see. So how did the pills work for ya, honey?
Mystery Guest 8:33
Well, the first couple of three that I took…very bad side effects on the heart palpitations. Just for the bipolar, nothing even the other ones just the first pill.
Honey Smith Walls 8:48
Oh my goodness,
Mystery Guest 8:50
I had to take…. so I got to my third medication before the bipolar started to be managed. And I was lucky enough I got one that didn’t have bad side effects. So I just had to have night sweats and restless sleep. I started gritting my teeth. Which eventually caused me to have significant damage to my teeth because of my grinding and clenching…
Honey Smith Walls 9:25
Oh jeez. So you got to choose your terrible side effects.
Mystery Guest 9:29
I did…. at least I got the lucky and I don’t have to keep changing pills because you don’t build up a tolerance to it. So it’s like well, at least there’s that…
One thing that I didn’t tell you with this when we were talkin about this before together was that if I suddenly stopped taking this medication just like a chopping box, I’m done. I literally could develop fatal rashes on my internal organs!
Honey Smith Walls 10:07
Oh my God! I have a horrible vision in my head of that.
Mystery Guest 10:12
I didn’t even know that was possible. But for me… There’s that fear then… of this balance of I’m willing to accept these potentially horrible side effects versus I want to function in my day. And because of choosing to change my life, that was my only option then.
So here we go. 20 years forward, and my life is in a different place. I’m in a different place. I have confidence because I have found my art and I have found my voice and I have found my place to go out and live… my life has changed.
So circumstances have also changed. Where I now am taking two other prescriptions daily. And I don’t really like how all that’s working out because I have side effects or side effects on top and side effects… and I’m functioning but I’m not really happy about it. Because my life’s changing so I don’t know if I’m going to be able to have access to these pills regularly and I don’t want to not function and…
Honey Smith Walls 11:49
Sounds like you’re dealing with a lot of fear.
Mystery Guest 11:52
I did. I did. So I started not taking as much prescription as I was prescribed. So that I could begin to build this hoard because of fear of running out… fear of not having enough and fear that I’ve been told I have to take this forever.
Honey Smith Walls 12:11
So you weren’t taking as much as prescribed. How were the effects for you? They’re still miserable or less.
Mystery Guest 12:20
I was not as afraid of running out. But I was just not being honest with myself that they weren’t ever working all the way anyway. My bipolar does, but it’s the other medications so the OCPD and the ADHD and the at times generalized anxiety… or it was that stuff I never really did what I needed it to do.
Honey Smith Walls 12:54
Well, you hear that a lot about prescriptions.
Mystery Guest 12:57
I got to this point that I decided I don’t want to not have control anymore. Because every ingredient in those pills isn’t helping me… some of them are causing me like I said to have the grinding my teeth or you know… so I don’t know, what is going into my body that I don’t actually need and what is it actually doing to me Long term?
Yeah. So it got set in my head. I visited with some friends and one of them had her medical card and she said yeah, I know about the ADHD and she suggested that I try to get a card… that I look into it. And it just kind of planted a seed in the back of my head of how I was before and now and I’ve been clean for 20 years and I can’t think that way.
And so I just had a big decision that I wasn’t sure about making… that I was scared to change my mind. I was scared. It’s like where you’re taking all these controlled substances, have medications and you’re taking them as prescribed and the reason you’re taking them for… they’re just not working… try something else.
Honey Smith Walls 14:36
There’s a lot of brain fog involved in mixing up prescription meds too and it’s really hard to think rationally after you’ve been on them for years and years and years is what I found. I lived in a huge brain fog for a long time, unable to make real decisions that you know, in a clear way, it’s just too damn hard. And so what happened?
Mystery Guest 15:14
Well, then I did one of my art shows… I was gone for several weeks hanging out with with all these people and…
Honey Smith Walls 15:25
If you’d like to tell our audience about your art…
Mystery Guest 15:28
Oh my goodness. Well, I electrocute wood with 12,000 volts of live electrical current… I know I say it’s so casually… like electricity is what I do. And I electrocute wood but I do it like it’s a paintbrush. It’s called lightning wood burning.
Honey Smith Walls 15:53
It is art people…. I gotta tell you.
Mystery Guest 15:58
But when when I’m there with my art and I realized this is what I want to do. And I realize how hard it would be to continue to see a psychiatrist on the road. It seems like the more realistic decision to start to look at because there’s dispensaries all over and I’ve never stopped being a proponent of medical marijuana. I’d always voted for it to pass. I wanted to see it in the hands of the public and the stigma taken away from it. That it’s this horrible drug and it’s a gateway drug. No, it’s horrible because you made it illegal. So now the only people who mess around are illegal. Right, exactly.
Honey Smith Walls 16:53
They also go to the street dealers because of cost. Yeah, but they don’t realize the cost to them by doing that because all the street weed is so contaminated.
Mystery Guest 17:06
Yeah, I can’t even begin to imagine… because I know when I quit 20 years ago, some of that stuff was questionable and you’d find little bits of things in it. Oh yeah, just put that out to the side…
Honey Smith Walls 17:21
Was that a finger? Hahahaha
Mystery Guest 17:27
Set those bandaids to the side… I remember one time… I had gone over to a girl’s house and her boyfriend sold… and he literally had…. well what we call down southwest here in Florida… We call it a square grouper. Do you know what square grouper is? It’s when they pulled the bales of pot out of the water. Here in the Keys. There will be these big giant cubes.
Well here I am in the mountains of North Carolina and this guy has a hunk of square grouper on his table. And he said reach in there and just grab a handful of that and you can have it… well I look back now with my better vision of sight and like… there was no quality control…
Honey Smith Walls 18:23
Had pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, heavy metals, batshit…
Mystery Guest 18:29
But it explains why some of them made me feel like I could have a nice buzz on the day and then somebody come in and they’re like, Oh hey, I brought this with me… hit this and then it like shifts the entire course of my mental and emotional self for the day and now that I know from from talking with you… the different levels. Yeah, make it different.
Honey Smith Walls 18:55
There’s so many compounds in it that we have to learn about in order to manage it.
Mystery Guest 19:00
Yes, yes. And we’ve talked about hedge witching. And so now it just makes sense. So I don’t know. I can’t ask the company for every active and inactive chemical in the pill. Versus you told me just ask them… can I get the lab report? Oh, okay. So now I can keep track of what works and what doesn’t… I have to go into my body… so that’s why I made the decision. I like that idea… that I am in control.
Honey Smith Walls 19:38
You are in super control of yourself.
Mystery Guest 19:41
Yeah, and I don’t have to have a stockpile because of fear that I’m going to run out. Right? Because I can’t see a doctor. Right.
Honey Smith Walls 19:53
It is everywhere and it is going to be decriminalized everywhere… but eventually when the world leaders undo that tangled web of deceitful lies they wove in doing the schedule one shit… You know, the reason it’s so hard for the US to drop schedule one was Nancy Reagan’s fault. Because it became a worldwide pact with so many other countries and to undo that Pact means different countries having to completely change their laws. And it just ain’t that easy.
Mystery Guest 20:37
Yeah, imagine that.
Honey Smith Walls 20:40
So, yeah, it’s a messed up situation that old white guys created some years ago in America.
Mystery Guest 20:52
Goodness gracious. Yeah.
Honey Smith Walls 20:54
We’re figuring it out. You know?
Mystery Guest 20:56
We’re slowly untangling the myths. Oh, you know, I said and you said you weren’t sure. I said, I believe that I’d see it. The decriminalization in my lifetime. I’d see it become legal. You’re like, well, I didn’t. I didn’t think I would. I didn’t and yeah, and it’s gonna take at least another one to two generations before we start thinking about it being just an average normal thing that is for everyone. It’s, it’s gonna be at least a couple more generations before that’s completely normal.
Honey Smith Walls 21:29
That’s right. And a generation is about 30 years. So yeah, it’ll be normal in about 60 years.
Mystery Guest 21:38
Completely normal.
Honey Smith Walls 21:42
I’ll tell you though, I feel very normal going out smoking a joint or lighting up a little onesie pipe or whatever.
Mystery Guest 21:52
I wouldn’t let anybody talk to me when I had it.
Honey Smith Walls 21:55
Yeah I hear you. Although getting my card in Florida, changed my attitude overnight. Well, I was so scared about getting caught. I was so nervous about being caught. Going to jail and gettin my car taken away. My house taken away and my husband would divorce me and you know, I was just so terrified of getting caught. And my husband’s a teetotaler, so when he found out I used cannabis, you know, it just kind of freaked him out.
Mystery Guest 22:29
Well imagine all of my best friends from the last 20 years of being clean suddenly all finding out… that I smoke… I would say people would be weirded out…
Honey Smith Walls 22:43
They’d think you fell off the wagon…
Mystery Guest 22:45
Yeah…That’s exactly my biggest fears of the society that I have ascribed myself to for 20 years.
Honey Smith Walls 22:55
But it’s so but now, you’re armed with with real science, and you can retort that no, they too can find relief for all their trauma through cannabis and it is not a gateway to other harder drugs or more alcohol because it isn’t.

Hey, my friends, I want to give you a tip about a neurologist I know and trust.
Dr. Anthony Mazo, a highly rated specialist here in Melbourne, Florida who is not quick to prescribe traditional synthetic chemicals when he knows that this gentle live plant therapy may likely give the needed relief.
I know this to be true because I had to see him for my own old lady neuropathy issues. He did not prescribe the usual synthetic stuff for my severe fingertip pain. He told me to go get a particular kind of cannabis instead… and use it in a very specific way to find relief.
His recent instructions came with a visual… Dr. Mazo asked me how I was using cannabis and I told him I smoked the raw leaf mostly…
He gently scolded me for not ingesting it as he’d mentioned before then gave me a great visual aid to remember… when your body is thirsty but you only give it a shower… your body remains thirsty until you actually drink or ingest the water.
Smoking Cannabis is meant for acute relief but it doesn’t last long enough to give you the full benefit. Wow! I get it! Even this old girl can learn a lot more about cannabis.
And that is what every doctor in America should have in their little black bag.
Dr. Anthony Mazo. A trusted cannabis expert in the field of neurology at the Brevard Neuro Center in Melbourne, FL.

Friends, I’m just stunned to realize how difficult it is to find trustworthy high quality CBD products that are full spectrum, whole plant, with all the natural compounds extracted from the plant for you to consume… as nature provided.
They don’t carry it in the dispensaries in my town… they push their own isolate brands and that’s just not good enough for me. It doesn’t have all the compounds.
I’ve heard a lot of complaints about how to find consistent over the counter CBD products and I have a solution. Last year I became an affiliate partner with Healer hemp products.
Dr. Dustin Sulak, DO who created this line is truly one of the great leaders in cannabis therapy… giving his patients relief from their issues for many years with his Healer CBD products that can be shipped to all 50 states.
I use his acidic version of cannabidiol or CBDa. It has everything plus a lot more of the compound which Dr. Sulak and other leaders in this industry have found to be more potent, thereby using less, which ends up making a big difference to your wallet. But it also adds many benefits to your body.

Honey Smith Walls 26:35
I was relieved when I got my card, because it meant that I was legal and I would not be arrested and just that anxiety alone went away and it felt like 1000 pounds lifted off my shoulders.
Mystery Guest 27:04
Well, I had to get the card to give myself permission to even do it because I hadn’t smoked in over 20 years, almost 21 years… and I had to use the card like this is a prescription…This is okay, this is acceptable. This is allowed. This is not using… it’s not criminal. And it doesn’t make it so that I’ve suddenly relapsed and gonna go right back into that world that I left… I had to get it legitimately so that I felt like I was allowed.
Honey Smith Walls 27:44
All of those affirmations were so beautifully said. And it is reconditioning your mind… to accept a new way of thinking. And that’s exactly what you have to go through. For everybody. It is a pivotal moment. You know, you realize when something is about to change your life, and you have to decide which path you’re gonna go, you know it… then you begin doing those affirmations just like you did… to help your mind except that this is the path you are deciding to try. That is so courageous.
Mystery Guest 28:28
Thank you and it wasn’t a snap decision. It wasn’t quick, or easy. No, it was very serious. Yeah, for me… The hardest part was allowing myself to not give up and girl… I wanted to do it… and not talk myself out of it. I said if nothing else… I’ll try this. If I don’t like it, I can always go back to the pills because they’re still there.
Honey Smith Walls 29:04
So how’d you get there? You got your card?
Mystery Guest 29:07
I did. I went on the phone and I just Googled… how to get a medical card. And I thought it would just be straight to a government site and that’s it… but no. I didn’t realize it was this whole big carnival… your industry… so I just settled on one that seemed like it had a good appointment list. And their website looked very nice. I set up a doctor’s appointment, and then they sent me all of these questionnaires and I filled out all the questionnaires so by the time I showed up for my appointment, I had already paid the state registration… I had already paid for everything. She said oh well you’re ready… you can leave from here and you can go straight to the dispensary… and I’m like wow, yeah. That being told after almost 21 years… it was okay for me to smoke pot.
Honey Smith Walls 30:05
That switch flipped in a hurry, didn’t it?
Mystery Guest 30:08
You told me to take a couple hundred dollars… Go down. I asked lots of questions and call me afterwards. And that’s what I did. And I took all of the suggestions that you gave.
Honey Smith Walls 30:23
If you’d like to mention which doctor that you visited, it’s perfectly alright. If you feel comfortable doing that. Because I’m fine. Stellar report about your visit with them.
Mystery Guest 30:39
Oh, the office, My Florida Green here in Naples.
Honey Smith Walls 30:45
Thank you. I’ll put that link up in my show notes so that you know anybody else can find them and they are throughout the state I think you said.
Mystery Guest 30:57
IYeah. They have several offices. And they’re also make and sell their own products to have like specifically formulated sleep gummies or tinctures. And so they they have that stuff too. But the part that I liked was the educational part. I went in, and they answered questions and they gave this really nice presentation that pointed out things that were really in parallel like with what you told me…. About Limonene and explaining like well if you are more interested in something for in the morning, then this would be a good one and he pointed to the one that was on the list that had Limonene in it like you told me about. Yeah.
Honey Smith Walls 31:53
I’m glad you felt really good and comfortable with their educational part and that’s so wonderful to hear that they were giving that instruction… you know, the fundamentals and basics of cannabis that every patient should learn.
Mystery Guest 32:07
And that’s what it was. It was like colorful little cards that were laid out so easy. And this gentleman even created this app to go along with the process. And it has things like a patient diary. So that you could put the strain that you take and what your rating of it was to help me and he said, Because if you’ve tried 10… And you don’t remember which ones were great, you’d have to go through and do them all over so we gave a way to be able to track stuff. He talked about if there was a prescription interaction. I mean, it was just the educational part.
So I walked in, I mean, it was nothing like what I expected from an appointment. I’m thinking in a doctor’s office that I’m gonna have to sit down and just talk to a doctor and feel awkward.
But I didn’t see her but just for a moment… she said she was just making sure you’re who you say you are. And if you have any questions at all, there’s plenty of people here you just ask that, but then it was the discussion and the learning about why these things do what they do. I don’t know it was nice. It was very professional. It felt like the time going in was utilized well, because of all the information.
Honey Smith Walls 33:38
I’m really really proud of that company. My Florida Green, right? My Florida Green. Good because there are some fly by night Pot doctors all over Florida. And this company has taken the time to do it right. And so I’m just very happy to hear about that. And so what happened after that… so you left that place and you felt fortified with all kinds of knowledge, right?
Mystery Guest 34:12
Yes, I went forth with knowledge and I did buy a bottle of the CBD oil because as you said as well… that if you need to take the high off a little bit… then hit the CBD oil. And I remember that… so I got some to hold on to just to make sure and I left and I went to my chosen dispensary where I had already picked out… see, I did all the footwork ahead. I knew that. Yep, I knew where everything was.
Honey Smith Walls 34:45
Good girl. So I think you told me that you chose MUV.
Mystery Guest 34:51
I did choose MUV. And I liked it. Again… I went into this…. When I say a clean slate. I mean Clean Slate. I have never smoked any flower from a dispensary. I’ve never seen pictures of what one looks like… no one’s ever taught me.
Honey Smith Walls 35:14
They can’t… they’re forbidden to…
Mystery Guest 35:17
I’ve never known anyone either who got their medical card and had a dispensary. So I didn’t talk about this… 100% Clueless patient. Yeah. And so when I showed up and their building is like… what a nice place on the outside and I opened the door… They got a cool waiting room and I’m like… well they don’t need to pay for air freshener obviously because no, like, the nicest smelling pot I had ever smelled…
Honey Smith Walls 35:51
Right? And they’re very spa-like too… smells like the greatest room of the freshest pot right…
Mystery Guest 35:59
Like an angel whist a kiss across my cheek in just the right way. Because it smells so good. Yeah. Um, so I sat down and they were like, Oh, this is your first time here? And I’m like, No, this is my first time period. I just got approved for my card and I said and it’s been 20 years! And the gentleman who was somewhere between yours and my age, whipped his head around and looked he goes your first time in 20 years. Oh, you’re gonna have fun!! They were so tickled to death… they were not like pharmacists at Winn Dixie who never smiled at me like that. So I was like, Yeah, this was already fun. I’m already having a good time. Yeah.
Honey Smith Walls 36:54
It’s awesome.
Mystery Guest 36:57
So I talked to him about what kind of my deal was… that I wanted to replace this medication hopefully. And the one gentleman was like, I was taking two of those pills you just mentioned and I don’t take them anymore now that I smoke.
And I said well that’s hopeful news to hear… he goes, but of course I’m not a doctor. I can’t… I said I know. I know. It’s good, though. Sure that yeah, they gotta keep their their tail covered, of course. But he said Yeah, try this one. And then I do this one and then I bought the two kinds of flower, and then I have a gummy and a vape pen to keep as well. Right. Yeah. Oh, and then yeah, and then the CBD oil. So I acquired all of that on Monday.
Honey Smith Walls 37:51
So you have you have a proper Alchemist kit that you can layer or you could make poultices, salves, you can infuse chocolate chocolates. You can do all kinds of stuff.
Mystery Guest 38:12
I got the whole like layout where I could figure out…
Honey Smith Walls 38:17
The whole shebang. So then what happened… you got home and…
Mystery Guest 38:21
Well I realized on the way home I had to go buy a pipe because I didn’t have anything to smoke it with. I’m not gonna lie. I just bought this bag of weed and I thought of my old school how we… I don’t know if you ever did… like we didn’t have anything but Johnny got an apple. Yeah. And I actually roped in my ex husband to smoke with me for the first time.
Honey Smith Walls 38:52
I love it.
Mystery Guest 38:54
Because he hasn’t smoked in ages either. He never had a problem with smoking but he hadn’t smoked in over 25 years and I said Well could you come smoke with me? Yes, just stop by the house. So I stopped and I bought snacks and drinks and just showed up at his house. And he goes… I wondered about that… if maybe we should have munchie food…
Honey Smith Walls 39:27
I’m so proud of you. You did so great… set and setting are really important for first time and you know I’m glad that you got a great friend to help you through it for the first time. That’s awesome, too.
Mystery Guest 39:43
Yeah my ex husband’s really cool. He’s nice like that. And I talked to him a lot about doing this and should I do this and would it be wrong if I did this…
Honey Smith Walls 39:53
It’s good to have a close friend like that…
Mystery Guest 39:57
I’m lucky I’ve got some other people within my my 12 Step world that are supportive. So it’s just utilizing the tools that are around me instead of trying to just rely on myself to make all these decisions.
Honey Smith Walls 40:19
Would you tell us what your first time felt like?
Mystery Guest 40:23
Oh, I was so nervous. I sat there again, this is like getting a teenager guilty feeling…
Honey Smith Walls 40:35
Yeah?
Mystery Guest 40:42
And so finally we each took a puff and I held my breath for a minute and I turned and looked at him and I said, God, I really feel like a teenager doing it for the first time because I want to ask, How do I know when it’s working? How long till it works?
Honey Smith Walls 40:57
What did you think it’s gonna be like?
Mystery Guest 41:00
So I had all these teenager feelings. And then a minute later I was like, I don’t feel anything. We should hit it again. So we hit it again. And then we both just started laughing and then I called you!
Honey Smith Walls 41:15
You realize oh, wait, yeah, I feel something. But there was a bit of a time warp for you, I think.
Mystery Guest 41:27
Oh goodness… yes. So I have this ADHD brain. And it’s running at a million miles an hour all the time. And I said yeah, I feel like that my perception of time has gone from this warped perception of everything. So much is happening in such a short period of time and I can’t think about any of it or focus on any of it or I said I think my my precepts of time has gotten reset from ADHD to everybody else.
Because 10 seconds seems to take forever. Or 10 minutes… on the first 10 minutes on the phone… I looked down and I’m like God, it feels like it’s already been an hour but it’s not. Right, but my normal precept of time is everything happens so much so quickly and I can’t keep up with everything.
Now it’s keeping up with everything that’s going on, and I’ve spent a lot of the last I guess 48 hours really just watching stuff online and listening to music, a lot of music and just seeing how this reacts to me instead of trying to do what my friends said she’s been making the mistake to do… smoke it and then try to go as normal.
She said that’s why she didn’t like it because she smoked it and then went and tried to act normal. And I was like, oh, no, I don’t think that’s a good idea. So I’ve really leaned into it here for the last two days. With snacks and music and TV and my phone and just seeing how it works or how I feel or just enjoying myself, right…
Honey Smith Walls 43:25
And how long it lasts and what the nuances of those effects are could be uplifting and help you focus… and others… Yeah, will just really kind of make you muddle-brained and kind of sleepy, ya know? And then there’s a lot of stuff in between all that.
Mystery Guest 43:49
Yeah, exactly.
Honey Smith Walls 43:51
You find the right terpenes that turn you on and off. You get the lab reports and you just keep track of stuff for a little bit until you get the hang of what you need. You know what your body wants.
I can’t thank you enough for helping my audience understand what a first time experience is like and I hope that you have an absolutely fantastic field of relief with this plant. Stay in touch with us. And let us know what other things come up for you or what you’ve noticed about the plant and your issues and how… if they’ve been resolved or if you feel any movement in that… we’d love to hear that.
Mystery Guest 44:41
Thank you I definitely have a clear set of what I’m trying to achieve. It’s not just about functioning and dealing with all the possible side effects or the headaches that go along with. I want to not just function I want to enjoy myself. I had been holding back and holding down for so long. I’ve never thought the pot was bad. I just didn’t realize how easy it was for me to actually participate and function normally because it came out of that illegal realm. And if it hadn’t done that, I still would just be relegating myself side effects pills. Instead of going back to what worked to begin with. I didn’t even know I had bipolar. Till I had to quit smoking.
Honey Smith Walls 45:34
Because you were managing it or maybe you didn’t have it before.
Mystery Guest 45:40
I don’t know. Yeah. I was always hyper. That’s part of the ADHD.
Honey Smith Walls 45:48
Yeah.
Mystery Guest 45:50
There’s no telling… it was two and a half years after I quit smoking that I started being treated for it. The anxiety.
Honey Smith Walls 46:01
I know that the science in both bipolar and anxiety and all of those stress markers has increased by 100 fold over the last six months in science, and they’re just working really hard to understand the medicinal effects of cannabis in those issues, not only physical issues, but also the emotional realms as well. And so, it’s so wonderful to see all of this happening, and to hear it firsthand from you… how it has helped already.
Mystery Guest 46:49
Having the resources available now. Yeah, they never were before… just having the resources available to be able to look into and research and what did you say? We’re alchemists. Yes.
Honey Smith Walls 47:04
We’re Alchemists.
Mystery Guest 47:06
And that’s exciting, isn’t it. I can say well, I know that time I had it was this much more… I wasn’t able to quite function as well that day as I would like to. So I like being able to tailor make my own treatment. But I’m not just dropping off with my pills and not taking anything ever again. I’m not doing that myself. I’m working with my doctor. So it’s not like I’m thinking oh, this is just some miracle cure gonna fix everything. No, it’s as I use it. Then I talked to my doctor about backing off of medications. Yeah.
Honey Smith Walls 47:53
Great. So
Mystery Guest 47:53
I’m working with professionals. Excellent.
Honey Smith Walls 47:59
That’s the way to do it.
Mystery Guest 48:00
Yeah, so I’m not taking it lightly.
Honey Smith Walls 48:05
Well, there’s so much fear in trying cannabis in the elder population, which I don’t consider you to be part of really but you’re 20 years younger than me. And I’m 68 so that the elder population is already on a handful of pills. They haven’t done any cannabis, like you said, since they were kids. Yeah, and that was a very very, very long time ago.
Mystery Guest 48:41
And yeah, very, very different. I need your cousin’s
Mystery Guest 48:50
It ain’t your cousin’s hunk of square grouper again. Love that. That’s hysterical. Yeah. Yeah. It’s, it is different. And what was it you said something about what you said? And I said I only smoke a little… I said I didn’t smoke a little! It was a lot of a little. Yeah. So okay, okay, so I gotta make sure I don’t smoke quite that much before I go to bed or I or don’t wake up for a good 10 hours.
Honey Smith Walls 49:21
It wouldn’t be that unless your body needed 10 hours.
Mystery Guest 49:26
See well when I went… That’s exactly it. I hadn’t slept through a night in eons. Yeah. And it was like, No, it’s okay that you slept 10 hours. Don’t have to wait five hours solid. That’s five hours is bad sleep.
Honey Smith Walls 49:48
I’m glad to hear.
Mystery Guest 49:49
Yeah, I have some clear cut. Not just I’m having fun. I really do have some clear cut goals. And well, I will tell you my I will tell you hold on. It’s only then what since Monday. And the swelling in my right hand is less. Oh my gosh. It’s I don’t care if it’s psychosomatic, whatever did it the swelling in my right hand is less… by I would say at least 20%.
Honey Smith Walls 50:24
Well CBD is extremely anti-inflammatory. Yeah. Yeah.
Mystery Guest 50:26
I told you about that I have the bad carpal tunnel and my right hand compared to how it was even just two mornings ago. When I wake up, and I can’t feel my hands, right. Its only happened a little bit earlier today. Yep.
Honey Smith Walls 50:46
CBD is really, really good for that. If you can keep that going in your body. You know, constantly. The CBD will really help because it’s big Main thing is anti inflammatory. Right? Yeah. So amazing that it doesn’t take that much.
Mystery Guest 51:09
Yep. Yeah. You know, I have problems with other things. I have the IBS and that has been one of the things that I’m long term and I know it’s a long term thing. I’m interested in seeing how can I manage this because I know it can be assisted with.
Honey Smith Walls 51:35
Yeah. If you go to PubMed, pubmed.gov and look up cannabis and IBS. You’ll find all kinds of white papers talking about how wonderful cannabis is for irritable bowel syndrome. Well, there you go. And so you can do that with any disease. Just go to PubMed. That’s P UB med.gov and look up cannabis, plus anything… the little plus sign and any disease. That’s so cool.
Mystery Guest 52:15
I will definitely do that.
Honey Smith Walls 52:17
That’s the scientific research center of the world.
Mystery Guest 52:21
One of them that seems like something they should have given us access to much sooner, doesn’t it?
Honey Smith Walls 52:29
Well, it’s funny you say that honey, because the medical world and information has been veiled for the public, always. Only doctors get to see that stuff. Right. So now here comes the cannabis industry and they’re like, Hey, you want to learn about this shit? Look over here. And then telling all the science and publicizing everything and all the cannabis doctors who are scientists and clinicians really working in it are giving lessons online and doing stuff open to the public… and you don’t have to be a med school student and spend $60,000 this year to get a cannabis education and real science. And they’re popping out cannabinoidologists… real doctors with cannabis masters.
Thank you very much. So it’s it’s pretty exciting. It’s revving up now. And so it’s just thrilling to be able to learn this and to be able to watch you come into the system you know and work it for yourself and become an alchemist. I’m a Hedge Witch Alchemist!
Mystery Guest 53:47
There you are….exactly. We use herbs for medicinal. That’s what we’re focused on. This is for their additional medicine and it’s spiritual too… for someone like myself.
Honey Smith Walls 54:00
And thank you for teaching me that.
Mystery Guest 54:05
Oh you’re welcome.
Honey Smith Walls 54:08
Listen, maybe you would come and join me on my Sunday show on clubhouse. It’s a live stage at 8am On Sundays, and I talk about the spiritual aspect of cannabis. How it is such an introspective tool for opening up… reframing ideas… and forgiveness… and expansion of your heart… and love to those who have offended you and stuff like that. So I’d love to talk to you about it more.
Mystery Guest 54:45
Oh, yeah, absolutely. Oh, wonderful.
Honey Smith Walls 54:49

Honey Smith Walls 55:18

Mystery Guest 55:20
Oh, absolutely. I don’t think I would have had near as much fun so far coming through if I hadn’t had you on the other end. Having a cheerleader behind me while I went through it.
Honey Smith Walls 55:38
You’ve got my my personal telephone number and the golden invitation to call me whenever you need to or whenever you want to. All right. Thank you, ma’am. All right, darling… we’ll talk to you again real soon and set up a Sunday thing and bless you, darling, really.

FINI:
You’ve been listening to another Cannabis Truth podcast with 21st century cannabis shaman Honey Smith Walls about the importance of using verifiably safe products. The process of getting a diagnosis from your family doctor and taking your records to a cannabis specialist can lead you to the correct cannabinoid therapy for those issues. Otherwise, you’re just your own guinea pig looking for answers without any foundational knowledge or ability to determine the best choices or strategies.
To find a qualified cannabis expert in your area… visit www.cannabisclinicians.org.
It is a national society of cannabis experts and you’ll see that link down in my show notes.
Unless otherwise proven by a reputable third party lab test, please be advised that all street weed is contaminated. It may do grave harm to a patient with a delicate immune system who already has inflammatory issues like arthritis, IBS, fibromyalgia or worse.
Thank you for joining me today as a trusted source of cannabis information. See you next time.

Cannaba Verum is Latin for Cannabis Truth. Sourcing factual information about cannabis hasn’t always been easy for a variety of reasons. However now because of modern innovations, it is. My sources are from leaders in cannabis science like:
Roger Adams, U.S. Organic Chemist who isolated the structure of CBD,
Raphael Mechoulam, Israeli Organic Chemist who isolated the structure of THC,
Ethan Russo, Dir R&D International Cannabis and Cannabinoids Institute
Dustin Sulak, DO – my favorite doctor at healer.com, teaching the art of Cannabis Healing to the world, and other industry greats like:
Rev. Dr. Kymron DeCesare, Ed Rosenthal, Jack Herer, Michael Backes, and Michael Pollen and so many more… plus I use classical sites like: PubMed.gov, JAMAnetwork.com, ResearchGate.com. I listen to several daily podcasts to keep up with the latest cannabis news across the nation and throughout the world like: Dr. Codi Peterson et al on The Cannigma Podcast, MJTodayDaily.com and MarijuanaMoment.net. I trust the CBDProject.org and CannabisScienceTech.com. I watch the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA) at: thecannabisindustry.org and many more like: NCIA’s Cannabis Industry VOICE (CannabisRadio.com)
Over past episodes of Cannaba Verum, we’ve listened to some amazing scientists and medical professionals talk about their discoveries and patient successes as hundreds of questionable compounds rise to the public grasp. I am especially interested in the pharmacists movement becoming an integral part of this new medicinal choice.
Watch this machine roll into action through conversations with pharmacy doctors all over the nation like Dr. Leah Johnson and Dr. Codi Peterson out West and Dr. Alan Ao up North. There are so many more getting involved now… these are just a few who have come on my show to explain the situation and it’s fascinating.
You’ll find citations available on my podcast blog at cannabaverum.com
PS: Helping society get past the fear of using cannabis will be a lifelong journey for me. This industry is just opening up and most patients and doctors are seriously cannabis naive and need help understanding where to turn for trustworthy information.
If you need help opening that cannabis discussion with your family doctor, please reach out and grab the Dear Doctor Letter I wrote for this exact purpose. It will explain your decision to try cannabis and ask for their help in monitoring your labs and progress. It will also show them where they can find medical research on the subject of your diagnosis and the effects of cannabis.
You’ll find that letter at cannabaverum.com
